Breath of fresh air seeing my GP today. I felt they had time for me, showed empathy and didn't try and rush me through my issues.

  2. Review titled Excellent Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sharon - Posted on 18 December 2024

Having attended the surgery for two relatively minor issues, I was delighted with the concern of the GP, the actions taken to refer me to specialist hospital services and to organise follow up appointments at the surgery. In addition the GP was extremely warm, welcoming and explained everything thoroughly and in a way that was easy to understand. Indeed my whole experience in the Practice with all staff has been fabulous all year. Vaccinations are carried out very efficiently and I never have to wait long in the surgery. I would highly recommend this Practice. Thank you Daybrook Surgery.

  4. Review titled Gone downhill

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 November 2024

Used to really rate this doctors but the last few months they have really gone downhill. I have had problems on more than one occasion but since they have changed their booking system to "booking 2 days in advance" you can't get an appointment at all. I rang this morning after waiting 35 minutes to get through at 8.35am I was told they had no appointments that they could book and to ring back tomorrow for a problem that could potentially turn life threatening. So after waiting in a queue of 10 people from when they open they had no appointments at all for today or the next 2 days? That means only 10 appointments available then? You've definitely ruined what used to be a good service by changing the booking system, there is actually no point being registered to a GP when the only advice is to wait hours at the walk I'm centre and the only reason the wait is hours at the walk in centre is because of GP practices like this.

Thank you for you comments, I am sorry you were dissatisfied with the service you received. The practice is working to the British Medical Association guidance help GP practices make decisions that will allow them to best prioritise patient care. Once the available appointments have been booked we signpost patients to alternative services as per guidance. Practices must provide enough appointments to meet the reasonable need of their patients. This must be done in a way that is safe for patients and GPs. Inevitably, some patients with non-urgent problems will have to wait longer. Other patients with issues your practice is not equipped to deal with or are of an urgent nature when the practice is at a full capacity will have to be directed elsewhere. The practice care navigators are trained to signpost you to the appropriate provider of care and prioritise care for those most in need. Care Navigators are appropriately trained reception staff that can safely direct patients to suitable alternative services that work to protocol and are under good clinical governance. This is in addition to present triaging arrangements used by the practice. These alternative arrangements could include (but are not restricted to): Extended access appointments Walk in clinic services Clinical pharmacy consultation service – Pharmacy First Deborah Rattray Practice Business Manager

  5. Review titled Professional and helpful

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I will skip over the long wait times on the phones which is the only negative experience of my recent series of phone calls and a visit. Firstly, the young (sounded young) receptionist who took my Initial phone call. "Thank You". You were very Professional and gave me a call back just as promised, twice. You have a great future. To the GP who supported her to provide swift info necessitating me to go to A&E, Thank you. To the Nurse today who took time to listen, understand and help me resulting in removal of stitches, Thank you. All of you treated me in a professional yet caring manner. All of you did what you said you were going to helping me to receive the right treatment at the right time. You made a difference. Please share this review with your staff members. They deserve it.

  9. Review titled Disappointing

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 July 2024

It seems impossible to make a routine appointment, I haven't the time or the patience to be on hold for 40 minutes at a time to be told there aren't any appointments. Recently I tried to get an appointment for what I thought was a skin infection, told to go to walk in centre and if I rang Drs first thing in a morning I still wouldn't get an appointment as I didn't meet the urgent appointment criteria, I went to a chemist who seemed to take it seriously and gave me antibiotics for a painful infection, I'm sure if left untreated infections can become very serious. I would think a lot of people are becoming very ill as they can't get an appointment and don't want to travel into town for the walk in centre. I think the practice used to have sign up saying something like 'if your condition isn't improving then make another appointment', I tried that before Christmas for another recurring problem and gave up, please don't leave me a message asking me to get in touch as I haven't the time to be on hold for 40 minutes! When I do get to see a Dr or a nurse I'm normally happy with the service.

After being on hold 45 was told the earliest appointment available wasn’t until Wednesday, was advised to go to emergency centre as my illness is likely to get worse! Really poor service needs improving.
