Review titled Lack of care and attention in the medical consultation
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 09 September 2024
I was seen recently by an assistant physician or not sure the individual's background, but she seemed rushed and annoyed during the medical experience consultation. She also mentioned that she was seeing a lot of patients. I waited an hour to be seen by her. I already have heightened anxiety due to my symptoms and she made it worse. She was also anxious. Probably wanting to finish our session as I asked a number of questions trying to understand my blood results and next steps to improve my health. Her attention to detail in conveying the results were poor and I recieved vague responses so had to ask more questions. I left the appointment feeling disappointed and angry based on the lack of care I received. I don't know why the booking team did not refer me to a doctor when I asked for this- everything seemed so mismanaged . Very disappointing experience on both ends. If the assistant medical support are too busy to provide proper medical support- they need to have breaks. It felt like I was speaking to a project manager and not a medical physician. If waiting time is going to be over an hour- let the patient know.

I went to my appointment with numerous of problems, I felt it may have been too much to ask but I was wrong. The doctor I saw today was very helpful and he helped every simple problem I had. I couldn’t imagine a more successful appointment, I’m very thankful for this experience.

Review titled Cancellation of appointment at short notice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 25 September 2024
Doctor messaged me on wednesday asking to make an appointment to check my skin condition made an appointment for today which has been cancelled at short notice without reason why. Nexus healthcare have made it impossible enough to get appointments as it is without them cancelling appointments at the last minute. I put it for a repeat prescription for my pain medication and the doctor messaged me asking for me to come into for a medication review which I was also wanting to do today how can I do a medication review when the doctors are cancelling. When making an appointment i asked for 1 of the two doctors i feel comfortble with and neither of them got back to me it was unknown doctor. Nexus healthcare should never have taken over it is horrible you cant even speak to the receptionist at your own surgery anymore just a hub in camberwell. The service is appalling. You should consider going back to a single practice as Nexus is really not working out.

Hello We are sorry that your appointment was cancelled, there are occasions where this is unavoidable, but you should have been given a reason and offered an alternative appointment. Currently we have telephone and face to face appointments available within 1-2 weeks. If you are wanting to speak to a specific member of our clinical team, there may be a slightly longer wait. We do have a central access hub for telephone queries. They will transfer you to your GP practice reception team if they are not able to deal with your query. Nexus Health Group did not take over your GP Practice. Decima Street Surgery merged with a number of local NHS Practices to form Nexus Health Group. If you would like to speak to the practice team about your experience. Please get in touch at www.nexushealthgroup.nhs.uk/contact Kind regards Nexus Health Group.

Review titled Great support for my daughter
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 10 September 2024
My baby daughter recently caught measles. We had a number of phone calls and appointments booked with GPs who were happy to be flexible in seeing her to check her symptoms & answer my questions. They referred us to the hospital at home team which was really helpful and then called me the following week to check in after our discharge. I felt really supported which made having an ill child much much easier.

Review titled More effort required
Rated 1 star out of 5

My 12 years old daughter has skin problem as well as the blood test few weeks ago showed some inflammation. Needed a GP visit. I have blood pressure problem in the last over 1 year. Received a text message from Nexus that I must come to see GP. As a single, full time working mum, I coordinated the 2 appointments with most care: same day, same morning, close slots etc. Finally i got it. I took day off from my work, my daughter skipped school. When we checked in in the Decima street Nexus GP centre, the receptionist said, our appointments have been cancelled! No efforts were made to try to get an other doctor to see us, the receptionist not even listened, that my daughter only needs 5 minutes to have a look at her skin and fill up a new blood test request form. I would have been happy to see a nurse too. But the answer was no for everything. No alternative was offered. Not even any help to rebook. Not an apology. 1. Why no spare doctor available? 2. Why the doctors do not split their time to try to see the absent doctor`s patients? 3. Why the receptionist doesn`t try to send me over to close-by Nexus (same company) GP practises E.g. Dan Cow, Artesian if available slots are there? 4. Why nurse / other health care practitioner do not try to see the patients in this kind of situations? There might be simple cases like issuing a blood test request what they are able to do. Wasting my day off, wasting time should be the last resort.

Review titled Unbelievable incompent reception staff
Rated 1 star out of 5

This GP surgery needs an complete and utter revamp i have had dealings with them on behalf of a very ill relative who asked me to get a medical form signed by the surgery so he could claim an outstanding private pension. I went in person to do as this what I was told by email..and when I got there I was met with rude and in competent staff who looked at me and my request like I just landed from the moon. After eventually explaining for the 3rd time what was needed.. I eventually left all documentation required and paid the fee duly. I asked could it be expedited due to the recent terminal diagnosis.. and I was told the doctors could take 30 days to attend to it. I said when you are terminally ill you may not have 30 days.. that was met with a raised eyebrow and I was told that was their policy. As it happened...I was right and my relative died 3 weeks later...Still no form completed...just sat in a tray for two weeks...if this is how they treat terminally ill patients..really feel for the normal patients. It was a horrible experience for myself . Surgeries like this needs their licence revoked and put a proper staff training in place. Everyone I came across was rude, showed no interest and had very little compassion for any request.

Review titled Rude receptionist
Rated 1 star out of 5

After politely saying I can’t hear you, could you say that again please? The girl on the phone repeated herself in such a condescending manner, I ended up hanging up and the phone. I’m sorry but if you don’t know how to speak to people politely, you’re in the wrong job. If you’re having a bad day, don’t take it out on the patients. She called me between 3-4pm today on the 1st Feb 2024. I hope managment address her stinking behaviour

Review titled They don’t attempt to call a second time
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 26 January 2024
I was waiting for a call back regarding my econsult on Tuesday. I didn’t receive a call. On Wednesday day they texted me to say it would be reviewed and they would call on Friday. Today on Friday I awaited a call, the phone rang for 1 second and hung up so I “missed” the call (this was probably due to low data signal) but they said they would call within the hour. Two hours later I hadn’t received a call so I went to the GP in person and asked the receptionist if I was still on the list to be called, she said I would be called soon. I was not called again and received a text saying I had to make a new econsult. I had no missed calls so they did not even attempt to make the second call.

Review titled Horrible practise and rude staff members
by Anonymous - Posted on 25 March 2024
I was running out of birth control and I was trying to ask the receptionist when they will call me but they were very rude about it. I then went to another receptionist who was being so sweet to one person and helping her out and giving her a hug but when it came to me asking for help she responded in a rude manner. I would like to say that the receptionist any of them dont have a welcoming smile and I feel like they pick and choose who to be nice with and they take their anger out on you. I know they work hard and have so much on their plates but that does not give then the right to treat people the way they treat people
