Review titled Amazing helpful receptionist
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Hayley Jones - Posted on 19 March 2024
I called the surgery earlier today to be told to call back in the morning. I explained my symptoms and that I thought needed antibiotics ASAP. The receptionist went out of her way to fit me in. I had an appointment booked within the hour. She was kind, polite and I can't thank her enough for going above and beyond to fit me in - its really appreciated and yes, I was given antibiotics!

Dear Mrs Jones Thank you for taking the time to feedback a positive review it really makes a difference to our staff. The receptionist that helped you is a new member of staff and has only been with us a few weeks, so this is great to hear. I will be passing your comments onto her which will definitely give her a confidence boost.

Review titled Rude receptionist, useless GP
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 14 February 2024
The lack of compassion and professionalism is absolutely disgusting from the receptionist. The receptionist was shouting down the phone and did not want to help. The receptionist then hang the phone up. The GP is always busy and never can get an appointment, needed a virtual appointment for my mother as she was hospitalised while in Newcastle and needed a prescription sent and they did not have a duty of care and a complete lack of putting the patients best interest first. I really hope the receptionist job is looked at and she is assessed with her behaviour.

Dear Anonymous, thank you for your feedback and we're sorry for your experience, however because of the information you provided we were able to look into this for you. You spoke to multiple receptionists trying to get an appointment for medication that was issued by the hospital which is something we can't do without a discharge letter. The receptionist you mention then went above and beyond her duty by ringing your mum to try and get some clarification on what medication she needed. Your mum offered to contact the hospital to try and get the letter with the information and the receptionist then put your mums best interests first by arranging a telephone call with the GP to see if she could help, so duty of care was given. Going forward if you have any issues we have a dedicated Reception Manager and a Complaints lead that you can ask to speak with.

Review titled Good practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Janet Lewis - Posted on 23 August 2023
Attended this practice since our move to Denham 1976 Of course there has been lots of changes. Overall, doctors, nurses and staff have been great. They tried their best over the long Covid period. Speaking to people out of area, we seemed to do well compared to other surgeries Managed to get an appointment without waiting weeks. We say to you all, well done for doing your best, under difficult circumstances. We the patients are not perfect, likely worrying with a health issue, making us more tense than usual. Speaking as we find. A good practice. Lovely doctors and staff. Thank you all

Brought our elderly mum to the Surgery today and she received the best care. The Doctor who saw was extremely attentive and had so much patience. Our mum is very frail and slow these days and he didnt rush her atall. When we got home she said cant wait to see him again. The Reception staff were all extremely friendly and efficient. Great Surgery.

Review titled Fantastic service
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was badly bitten by a cat at 10.30am. I rang the surgery for advice and was given an appointment for 11.20am to see the nurse. My wound was cleaned & dressed, I was given a tetanus booster and antibiotics. I am so impressed and grateful- I couldn’t ask for better service!

Review titled They really don't listen
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 10 February 2023
I have had very bad experience with this practice, and unfortunately it is the only option in our catchment area. The doctors do not listen, but depend on incomplete notes to diagnose issues. The notes are often inaccurate. There is a real reliability issue. I'm sure much of it is due to being overworked, but I'm fed up. I've been trying to get my health issues addressed for a year and a half. I've had long covid symptoms (more than one) for over 2 years. They explain them all away as something else and give me prescriptions. No referrals to specialists. No follow-ups recommended. No accurate notes kept. I know this is a symptom of the NHS being at a breaking point, so I can't really blame any individual. I would just like to be taken seriously.

Review titled Great Practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by R Alexander - Posted on 18 January 2023
The Surgery called me as the doctor wished to discuss the results of a recent MRI which he had received that day. I was naturally apprehensive, but he immediately reassured me, explained my diagnosis, solutions and possible future recurrence. He made no attempt to rush me, and patiently listened to my nervous, somewhat garrulous conversation. Despite the current problems across the whole NHS, this practice somehow copes and gets it right.

Review titled Absolutely disgraceful
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 30 December 2022
I called the surgery with regards to my 9 month old son to be told extremely rudely they don’t have no appointments, I explained what was wrong to be told to hold on a moment, after being put back onto hold for a further 15 minutes the receptionist comes back onto the phone as if she forgot she put me on hold. The only thing they could tell me was to ring 111 which I had done to which they were amazing especially after hearing my 9 month old in the background to which they advised me (after doing the assessment) to ring the surgery back and to have someone call back within the hour and I explained the situation I was told and they said it doesn’t matter they need to call you back so I won’t be taking my son to the hospital to waste time there in something the gp surgery should be able to do. They were extremely rude yet again wondering why they told me to call the surgery back, I refused to be spoken to with so much disrespect and I explained they obviously done this so I’m not wasting hospital time and my time! I ended up taking my son to A&E because the surgery is that shocking in refusing to even squeeze a child under 5 who is a baby in to see the doctor or even have a phone call! I am absolutely appalled by this behaviour and to be so disrespected! It needs to be sorted out as I have been fobbed off by either the receptionist or a doctor since becoming a mother! Everyone should be listened too understandably but a mother calling about their child should be taken more seriously and not fobbed off all the time! Extremely unhappy and disappointed especially being a patient at the surgery myself since the day I was born!

We are very sorry to hear you have had a bad experience however our policy is to never to turn under 5s away, especially at this current time with Strep A being a worry. Without you leaving any details we are unable to investigate this for you. We have checked the clinics on Friday 30th for appointments and there were appointments free to book.
