Review titled Don't bother
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 28 July 2023
You can hardly ever get an appointment here, and when you do it's a telephone appointment, the Dr won't call you and then when you call the surgery for an update you are met with an uncaring receptionist, who blames you for not answering despite having your phone on full signal and not moving all afternoon while waiting for the call. After 16 attempts to get an appointment this has happened. This surgery is a joke

I have been unable to get an appointment since before the pandemic and now I can't even get a repeat prescription for meds that have terrible side effects when stopped ,Its impossible to get through if you work, people who work can not ring at 8am and spend over a hour trying to get through only then to be told there's noting left call back tomorrow at 8am and do it all again or we can't do that you need to do it online however to do it online you need to register I have tryed many times to do this and its failed every time ,I'm at the point now where I have had to accept that I no longer have access to a gp this doctors surgery is terrible and does not serve the needs of the people in the community its a complete failure Update went in at 8am to get a repeat prescription the receptionist was rude and hostile and I was told to fill out the form and put it in the box even I explained I ran out 4 days ago and the side effects are very bad when you stop suddenly but she was not interested in trying to help and rudely told me to put the form in the box this is why health care should never be privately run it took a week to get a repeat prescription Update Got a phone call from a doc he was hard to understand as he had a foreign accent and his English was not great he did not help me at all telling me he did not have time to talk as he had other calls and give the wrong advice what he said about coming off meds was not what it says on other doctors websites and the nhs website so save yourself some time and the tax payers some money and Google any problems you have this surgery is a joke its crazy but we now live In country without working doctors surgerys but this is what you get with private health care in charge I think the doctor I was talking to must get a commission for stopping patients from coming off meds they don't need or want telling me I need to stay on them for years which I know not to true

Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback We are sorry that you have felt the standard of service at Denmark Street Surgery has warranted this review. We have implemented a new appointment system, we offer same day emergency appointments face to face and telephone appointments and pre-bookable appointment available 14 days in advance. E-consultations can be done online and we do offer a limited amount of online pre-bookable telephone appointments with GP's. Our telephone system allows patients calling the surgery to be placed directly in to a queuing system to avoid experiencing the user busy tone and the call will be answered by our Patient Liaison Team. Since December 2022, Prescriptions are to be requested via email, system online, NHS app or completing a prescription request form at the front desk and placed into the box we provide. Vulnerable patients are permitted to request prescriptions via telephone. All prescription requests are the patient's responsibility and patients are responsible to request them in a timely manner. Kind Regards Amy Norton Patient Services Manager
