Review titled Wonderful staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Visited the practice after a very sudden onset of illness, the reception team could not do enough for me on the phone and in person. Very friendly and compassionate staff from the reception the to the GP I saw, I was offered a wide range of appointments and was asked good questions to establish my needs as a patient. I felt looked after and listened too. I have been booked a follow up by the gp and for tests by the receptionist. A warm welcome upon arrival and smiles from all. I’m not ill often but I am grateful for the service and would not be concerned if issues with my health arose again and would need the assistance of derwent valley. Thank you again to a wonderful team. You should all be proud of what you do!

Review titled Rude receptionist
Rated 4 stars out of 5

Came in for an appointment on Wednesday morning. Walked up to desk, receptionist didn’t even look up. After around 10 seconds she shouts “hello”, having still not looked up at me. I made the assumption she was talking to me, so I gave my appointment time and name, fortunately I was correct in my assumption. She then said “thank you, take a seat”, still not once having looked up at me. I found the receptionist to very rude and disrespectful. I’m not asking for the red carpet but eye contact and a bit of respect wouldn’t go amiss. We constantly get reminded to treat staff with respect - a sentiment I fully agree with - it does work both ways though.

Review titled Thank you

I rang this morning for help for my autistic adult son. I admit it took several attempts to get a call back but when I did get one the receptionist was very helpful and kind. I'm truly grateful to her for getting an appointment for my son and I appreciate the job is so demanding. Receptionist wages should be a lot higher as they are on the front line and must get a lot of hassle. Thank you to the lady concerned.

Review titled Poor service
Rated 3 stars out of 5

Having only discovered I needed to make an appointment for a medication review when I tried to request a repeat prescription online, I couldn't get through by phone and so visited the Spondon surgery. I made the appointment and advised I would run out of medication before seeing the doctor. I was told that was OK as now I had the appointment a prescription could be issued which was done. I asked if it would be sent to my usual pharmacy and was told yes. Went to collect today and no prescription waiting. Hadn't had a phone call from surgery to indicate a problem either. Now have only one day's medication left and it's a bank holiday. Good job, Derwent Valley!

I’ve been with Derwent less than a week following moving from Nottingham to Derby, turnaround for my details transferring felt like minutes. I’m going through a very worrying time at the moment and the service I had from a certain individual this morning getting me in was next level (it won’t let me use your name, but L it’s you) Can’t tell you how much I appreciate human beings like you….I hope you see this. Thank you, thank you so much x

Doctors are brilliant and so are the nurses You just got too get past the want to be doctors or the ones who think they can diagnose you first and how bad you are too see if you can have an appointment these are the ones that answer the phones Other wise keep up the good work

Review titled So far so good
Rated 4 stars out of 5

Moved here from another larger practice round the corner because I couldn’t get any appointments after lockdown, and have generally found it to be better overall. They are much smaller than my previous doctors, and the building definitely does not have “curb appeal”, however the most of the Dr’s are nice (that I’ve seen so far) & the wait times are much better, both in terms of waiting for an appt, and the appointments themselves.
