    After trying to book a routine appointment via NHS app, EMIS and an E consult to no avail, I had to call the surgery. After an interrogation by a medially unqualified staff member who told me they were 'triaging' my appointment request I was told I would be added to the end of a queue but no appointments were available until 2023 - today is 6th December! I have decided to leave this surgery. No one wants to have a medical problem or put pressure on the NHS but we are human and a little kindness and empathy from frontline admin staff would go a long way - sadly, this is not on offer at this surgery.

    I'm sorry for the frustration this long wait must have caused. Access to appointments was particularly difficult during the Strep A infection wave in December when you called. In cases where our patients are not able to use eConsult, our receptionists are trained to ask specific questions which help our clinicians triage appointment requests, so that we see the most urgent cases soonest. I apologise that this felt like an interrogation and a lack of empathy and I will share your feedback with our staff. Best wishes, Suzanne (Practice Manager).

    In the past month I have needed to contact a doctor on two occasions. The on-line consultation was responded to in an hour and I saw a very efficient and helpful GP in person that same morning. On the second occasion I was able to make an appointment to speak to my own GP within a week, followed up by a face-to-face appointment within a week, again. The receptionists on both occasions answered my telephone calls promptly and efficiently. This practice is impressive, especially given the present pressures on the NHS and GPs.
