    I left a previous review advising the difficulty I was facing trying to book a simple blood test. I eventually had to go into the practice - which is out of the way and not en route of any journeys as part of my day-to day - to book an appointment. I was told then that I should be able to book a blood test online; I can't, I have tried repeatedly on the nhs app and the system the practice uses, both on the app and on the website. I have tried to call again today to book another blood test - at the request of my consultant. I have been on hold for an hour and a half (90 minutes!), ringing well before the Practice closed but have not been able to get through. At the beginning of the call, I was only number 7 in the queue. And I was unable to get through before the practice closed. This is making managing my long-term health difficult.

    The new system is much better than old one. I get a call from GP within few hours depending on the request. Last week I been waiting 9 hours for a call but been offered a routine appointment.

    Dear Patient Thank you for taking the time to feedback about your experience using the new system. We are pleased to hear that you found it better than our old system. We do aim to respond to urgent priority requests within 1-2 hours, medium priority requests within 2-4 and low priority requests are all responded to the same day but this can be anytime between 8-6 depending on the volume we receive. If your request is for a non urgent medical problem, we would usually offer a routine appointment within 1-2 weeks. This ensures patients with acute or urgent medical problems can be offered a same day appointment. The GP may book patients with our physio, mental health practitioner, pharmacist or physician associate if suitable which may be quicker than a routine GP appointment. If you notice any worsening or new symptoms whilst waiting for your routine appointment, please submit a new form and the GP with triage the information you provide and may offer a same day appointment if you need to be seen sooner.     The place of surgery has a good location. Some doctors are friendly and helpful. Most my appointments were online, few times been seen before the time of my appointment. Before July 2024 when practise had old system of appointment it was hard to get appointments especially on Mondays. Since new system was implemented it is easy to get appointment and online form suits me. Staff general is nice. Ladies in reception too. Don't like the heat in the waiting room at Colton Mill. Been few times there and was hard to breathe inside as all windows were closed.

Please let the reception staff know if you are finding it difficult to breathe in reception with the heating.     Every time I have to book with Colton Mill, I find it harder and harder to access. Frequent and consistent changes to how to book appointments, removing access via the NHS app etc. If you try to call to resolve the above, you can be waiting for an hour to get through. All I needed to do was book a routine blood test but this has become locked behind so many hurdles that it feels impossible.

    We have just relocated to the area from Isle of Man & at first I was struggling to use the old online booking system with being a teacher I could never quite get an appointment in the short time frame each morning before leaving for work. All the staff have been super helpful when we first came. Today the young lady on reception at Colton Mills was super lovely, (9.30am 26/07) trying to help me get the full stop off after Mrs so I could use the new system Total Triage as the system kept kicking me out due to the pre-entered name data & my name having a full stop after 'Mrs'. She did it there & then for me. I got home, used the new system and instantly got the appointment text to go online and arrange an appointment. Wonderful. I just wanted to say this system has been marvellous for me as a FT working person who cannot have their phone by them while teaching. Thank you to the lovely receptionist and to Colton Mills for changing their online booking system. I was at breaking point trying to use the old system while working FT as a teacher & no clue how to get an appointment booked in so I could ask for time off at work. Thank you.

    Following my consultation at Colton Mill I was booked in for a Gastroscopy and Sigmoidoscopy. The procedures were done very speedily bringing the commencement of my treatment forward which helped lead to a good outcome.

    As per usual the drive through service (held last weekend at Gipton Fire Station) for flu and covid vaccinations was excellent. We were guided through seamlessly from start to finish, great organisation. Thank you to everyone helping on the day, it was cold but you all had a welcoming smile for the patients. A good job well done.
