  1. Review titled No communication or planning

Despite having same transplant drugs for 12 years under guidance of a consultant , they decided this month to not to issue my monthly medication - sadly they not advise me - the chemist told me . So apparently a change in their surgery policy and a GP review - perhaps they should communicate that to me , and others ? Especially as I am in the surgery every month for cancer treatment and they could have told me last week when I was there and also ordering this medication , on that day and done the review then? Even my monthly cancer treatment - which is day specific - can’t be booked in advance as there is only one person who opens the list - so I have to call back and hope there is a slot - it causes a lot of unnecessary stress and worry .

  2. Review titled Outstanding

Had a morning telephone consultation booked but due to an admin error didn't get to speak to the GP. Called the surgery, helpful receptionist rectified the error, received a call from the doctor for the telephone consultation at approx 7pm that same day. Understand the pressures general practice is under so this was unexpected - GPs and their teams are human beings too and need to go home to rest after a day of working in a pressurised, hectic environment. People need to stop knocking GPs. They want to help us patients but structural NHS problems and systems get in the way of them being able to do that. Sincerely grateful for the above and beyond service provided by my practice. Thank you Leagrave Surgery.

  3. Review titled Went the extra mile

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Nicole Morgan - Posted on 06 December 2022

This week there has been a lot of press about child deaths due to strep A and there have been cases of scarlet fever at my child’s school. When my daughter woke with a painful and red sore throat and a flushed face, I was very anxious. I called the surgery and there were no appointments and I asked could I email a picture, within the hour the receptionist called me to say she would pass it to the GP and I later got a call and a face to face appointment for my daughter. We are quick to criticise GP’s but today I experienced excellent and caring service, even though it meant a large workload for the doctor. Despite it being a long working day for him, he treated us with great care and friendliness. Just to add that the surgery have improved their phone system, you can ask for a callback without losing the place in the queue, this is a fantastic and patient focussed improvement that more NHS services should implement.
