by Andrew - Posted on 10 July 2024

My son has a skin condition he has had a prescription for it before it has started to flare up again so I asked if he could have the same prescription again I was told no he has to see the Dr again if we are lucky enough to get through there is usually a 5week wait, I phoned today at 8am and was told I was number 23 in the queue. (waste of time)

Hi Andrew, Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback. I am the operations manager for the practice and i am really sorry to hear that your experience with the practice has not been positive. If you would like to contact me directly at the practice on 0161 983 0110, regarding your son's prescription i can certainly take a look into this matter for you. We try where possible to offer appointments on a same day basis, or within a 2 week period. Unfortunately, our telephone lines are very busy with patients calling every day, however we do have an online consultation form on our website which you would be welcome to use. Kind regards Sam McDonagh Operations Manager.

  2. Review titled Poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

My daughter has a serious health condition and she is on multiple regular medication its a nightmare getting her regular medication approved. Every time I have to call the surgery 3-4 times after ordering the prescription to get them to approve it. Now it's 10 days since I ordered her last one and its still with the doctor. She runs out of her medicine all the time and I have to call hospital for emergency.

  3. Review titled Cannot get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Ria - Posted on 27 February 2024

I cannot get an appointment at this practice. Every time I phone I'm always 15th to 20th in the queue (despite being on the phone at 8am). I have to hang up as it takes so long and I'm expected in work. And then I get messages for tests and I can't get through to make an appointment. The phone message suggests using the NHS app but that's pointless, there's never appointments on there and if they are they are for weeks ahead. If I'm calling its because I'm ill and need to see someone at that point, I can't plan my illness for three weeks in the future. I'm frustrated and upset because I've had the same illness for three weeks and been unable to get through and it is not getting any better.

  5. Review titled Getting nowhere with appointments

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 August 2022

Called on Wednesday, despite ringing at 8am no appointments after being on hold for 40 minutes, Thursday I couldn't get through and Friday, assured that I would receive a triage appointment - I waited all day and was informed that I would be called at 16:40, I received a call from the doctor at 17:00 only for her to put the telephone down because of a poor line. I called back and was assured that I would be contacted however nothing. Absolutely frustrated - what happened to face to face contact rather than relying on antiquated telephone diagnosis. For what it's worth I live around the corner so don't understand this approach?

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We have experienced some intermittent issues with our telephony and text messaging systems, we are sorry to hear the telephone line was poor. We are actively reviewing ways in which patients can contact us to help speaking to us easier, by adding more appointments available to book via text message or online via the NHS app for those who can use digital solutions (these include on the day and pre-bookable appointments up to 1 month in advance). Other features of the app include requesting repeat medications online. We do value patients feedback should you wish to discuss your concerns in further detail please do ask to speak to the Operations Manager.

Absolutely poor practice. I have been trying to get an appointment for my daughter for several months now and her situation isn’t getting any better. I contacted today and listened to the message 21 times and kept getting cut off. I then checked the reviews and found another number but by that point no appointments left. I can’t even book her a routine appointment. Disgusting

  7. Review titled Friendly helpful Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mrs Angela Love - Posted on 28 September 2022

The staff are always friendly and I find them really helpful. They always try their best to sort out and meet your needs. It is a small practice and I think sometimes patients forget this. But I rather like the small and friendly team. They do a very good job.

  9. Review titled Lovely staff but terrible practice!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 July 2022

The staff as people are lovely, however the practice itself is run very poorly. Today I have been number 1 in the call queue for 37 minutes, and this is a regular occurrence no matter when I call for an appointment. On many occasions I have missed appointments because reminders have not been sent as promised, prescriptions missed because they have been sat at the pharmacy that long because the practice did not tell me they were there! It seems the practice can be very lazy and you can’t afford to be lazy when peoples health literally depends on you! After restrictions were lifted, they still insisted on people being outside the practice even though places opened up. They had a sign on the door saying limited number of people in the waiting room however let nobody in! They left my grandparents stood outside in the cold waiting for 20 minutes, bearing in mind one of them was there with back problems. As I said the staff are lovely and genuine, however the practice itself needs a bit of work.
