The receptionist was very unprofessional today. I telephoned to book an appointment for my daughter. She did not state who she was - I had to ask for her name. I asked for a gp appointment and she said she had booked an appointment. When I asked who with because she did not disclose this - she said it was with an acp. She would not listen when I said I needed a GP appointment. In fact she talked over me. At one point she shouted. I remained calm albeit I am a concerned mum so pressed for the answers I required. She kept on saying she had the phone to answer, did not want to listen to me or my needs as a patient and she rudely put the phone down after she shouted at me. It was a very disappointment experience and I have complained but I am worried I wont receive a professional response if the calibre of staff are reflected in this particular receptionist. I wonder whether the practice will even respond to my review? On the other hand and for fairness - I did speak to the clinician and she was very good, caring and empathetic to my concerns.
