Review titled Fantastic Doctor
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Suzanne Thomson - Posted on 01 November 2024
I attended today for diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol review. The Gp who has looked after me now for the last few years really needs to be congratulated for her consistently excellent care. She is always compassionate, a fabulous listener, she helps me to take responsibility for my own health by explaining treatment collaboratively. She gently persuaded me over several appointments, using her impressive research based knowledge, and anecdotal evidence to choose the right medication for my condition. I love that she always overruns with her appointment times, because I know she gives all of her patients the same care and attention as she does with me. She is also incredibly efficient ensuring that everything has been actioned by the time I leave her office. She is a remarkable doctor and I feel so blessed to be cared for by her. She was also key in my husbands cancer diagnosis and he was treated and is now in remission. As a family we are very grateful for her. Thank you so much

As I diabetic I always request my repeat prescription on line and the Doctors always ensure that they are signed and send to the pharmacy but twice now this was not sent to the pharmacy I went to the surgery and they were sitting in a tray for over 6 days I could not believe it and the receptionist acted like nothing had happened what A shame The Doctors are so nice and respectful but the receptionist is making the practice look bad They need to get trading on using the Manchester triage because they are clueless about what they are doing

Dear patient, thank you for your feedback and sorry for the frustrations you have had requesting your prescriptions. Any prescriptions requested online go straight to your GP for approving. So I am not sure why your request would end up sitting in a printed tray. If you would like to contact the surgery directly I can look into this further for you. Kind regards, Tom Practice manager

While the Doctors are very sweet and professional I can say for the receptionists my liver enzyme needs attention and was told that it’s not important even though the Doctor requested me to book an appointment I was assured that my results are not serious at all and can wait The earliest I can speak to the Doctor is September 24 What a sadness I am so disappointed Spoke to a Doctor and he himself is sad about the situation I like my Doctor she is so humble and kind and so are all the others so I don’t want to change but these receptionists ?????????

Review titled A child appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Diana - Posted on 27 September 2024
Call the surgery just this morning to ask for an urgent appoitment for my 7 years old daughter, the receptionist told me than I needed to complete an online form as they are not managing urgent/same days appointments over the phone anymore. I completed the online form and they said my daughter will be contacted by the 30/09/2024 by 6:30pm, when we really need a doctor today, is not life or death situation, if it was the case I will go to E&A , however, for them to decline an appointment for a child or elder is bad, really bad. The surgery is taken a turn from bad to worse.

Dear Diana, thank you for your feedback. We promise all patients a response by the end of the next working day. I appreciate that on a Friday that wording makes it sound like a long wait. We will look into how we can improve that. In practice we respond much quicker than that and eConsults which are either urgent or for children are prioritised. This system allows us to prioritise patients based on need and not a first come first served basis. It does not deny patients appointments but rather offers a fairer system to all our patients. If you would like to discuss this further please contact the surgery. Kind regards, Tom Practice Manager

Review titled Excellent Practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by AMK - Posted on 15 August 2024
I saw GP with symptoms and within 5 days I had undergone 3 diagnostic tests and given the results via appt with GP - all arranged by the marvellous team at Dysart. Efficient and empathic Administration, Practice Nurse worked seamlessly to make it happen. The surgery and waiting area itself is spotlessly clean and the cool air was welcome in this hot weather. This practice and the lovely people working there should be the benchmark for all practices. Thank you

Review titled Stressful booking appointments
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Hothenzy - Posted on 29 April 2024
I have used this surgery for nearly 20years and very happy with the doctors I have seen. Also, the older ladies who have worked at the reception over the last decade have been very helpful too, but it seems they have either retired or been transferred. I do not find the new receptionist helpful at all. There's a particular female that is not alert. As on 2 separate occasions when I was trying to book an appointment over the phone, she repeated the wrong date of birth to me even though I provided the correct information to her several times at the start and during the short call. This made me very nervous because prior to that 2 days before, this same receptionist put the phone down on me after I had waited 15 minutes to be attended to. This was very frustrating as I gave her clear information but she repeated something else back I didn't say to me yet again. This was not a mistake the older team who worked at the surgery for over 10yrs would make. Also, I dont understand why the surgery has stopped self-online booking via the nhs and patient apps? This was far less stressful as I dont have to deal with a careless receptionist who doesn't seem to care about obtaining correct details of a patient. For example, when giving month of birth as May and she replied "did you say August?" Its shocking as it is clear both months sound different so where on earth did she come up with August? Then she drops the phone when I tried to say no, its May. I would like to kindly request that Dysart consider reinstate routine online self booking via nhs and patient apps as not every one wants eConsult. Also waiting on the phone for up to 30mins to be answered is ridiculous only for the receptionist to drop the phone on you because she might be dealing with other patients standing in front of her or too busy.

Dear Hothenzy, Thank you for your feedback and apologies for the inconveniences and frustrations you listed. Our reception team has expanded in recent months but our more experienced receptionists are still working at surgery. I will pass your feedback to our team. Re online booking, national guidance stipulates that patients must be triaged at the first point of contact and with that in mind we have had to alter our service. We still offer online booking for clinical procedures such as cervical screening and child immunisations. Kind Regards, Dysart Surgery

Review titled Turned away for a Cancer Screening evening
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Robert Bannister - Posted on 07 November 2023
Received a text 5 days ago to come to this event and left work 2hrs early (from West London) to be back to Bromley for its 6:30pm start only to be turned away at the front door of the surgery. Very badly organised and managed and obviously lost time out of work for the event with no sympathy to me and the fellow patients that were also left disappointed. Perhaps there is a better way to manage a service like this next time. They said to come back on another ocasion but what is to stop this from happening again!?

Dear Robert, Please accept our heartfelt apologies that our Cancer Awareness evening was so busy we had to turn patients away. We were not expecting such a large turnout and although we were very pleased with the large numbers attending it was such a shame to turn anyone away. We have learnt from this and will ensure a more robust booking system for future events and a larger venue. Kind Regards, Tom

Review titled Caring staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Faith Moon - Posted on 21 October 2023
I just wanted to say thank you to the wonderful person I spoke to earlier in the week. I’m sorry I didn’t take her name. Going through difficulties, I found it even hard to speak. She was so caring, understanding, patient and able to find a solution. The Dr rang me the following day and was also kind, helpful and understanding. This has made a very difficult situation a little bit better. This is not the first time I have experienced support from this surgery. I have now relocated and I hope my next surgery will be as kind and professional.

Review titled patient safety risk
Rated 1 star out of 5

we have been waiting for antibiotics for four (4) days, I called the surgery on Friday to be to that the gp was busy and they would try to get them done that day, called again on Monday to be told in a very condescending manner that they would send a message to gp and that it would be 48 hours for the rx to be sent. I explained that we had been waiting for the rx for four (4) days and normally this surgery is efficient and had there been a change off staff as I person that I normally deal with was very understanding to the situation. I also explained that the patient would need to go to a &e if we do not receive them today, the receptionist was not concerned and never once showed any empathy. Shameful and no concern for the patient. Please train your receptionist to see the patient behind the prescription.

Review titled Disappointing

I especially took time off work to attend the morning appointment for my health check. When I arrived at the surgery I was told that the person I was supposed to have a health check with doesn't start early on that day. This is very disappointing, as I've had to take time off work for nothing.
