Review titled Antenatal care - no appointment -alway refer to A&E
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Awanish Kumar - Posted on 09 April 2024
Dear, I am writing to express my extreme frustration with the lack of support and guidance we have received from Albert Road surgery regarding my wife's pregnancy. Despite repeated attempts to schedule an appointment, we have been met with insurmountable obstacles. Every time I call, I am forced to wait for a long time, even the call got disconnect abruptly after an hour. When I manage to request a call back, the only advice we receive is to visit a&e. This is utterly unacceptable. As expectant parents, we are in dire need of regular check-ups and guidance, We are left feeling completely abandoned during this critical time. It is outrageous that we are expected to repeatedly visit a&e for routine pregnancy care when this should be handled by our gp. I demand to know how anyone is supposed to secure an appointment under these circumstances. What is the supposed process for receiving regular check-ups during pregnancy? It is imperative that Albert Road surgery address these deficiencies immediately and provide us with the care and support we desperately need. Sincerely, Khushbu Kumari It's pregnancy, we need regular checkup appointment as soon as possible.

Review titled Not helpful at all
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 22 January 2024
Went to the practice to book an appointment, been told they can't do it there, and need to call them in the morning. Tried to call them Monday morning from 8am, been told they don't have appointment available for the day, and they only take same day appointment. And the girl on the phone sounded rude and unprofessional. Not helpful at all, have to change a practice.

I've been waiting on the phone for 42 minutes, then hang up and tried again for 30 minutes to no avail. It's impossible to get an appointment at this practice.

Review titled No point in being registered with this practice
Rated 1 star out of 5

Impossible to make an appointment everytime. Need to see gp face to face unable to make appt at all. Been trying for 3 days, then told use 111 or go a and e. I don't see the point in being registered here if I can't access healthcare.

Review titled Close to impossible to get an appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Wasif - Posted on 12 February 2024
One of the worst system to book an appointment unless it is designed to not give patients access to GP. You cant book future appointments. To book an appointment for the you need to call 8am and usually wait for anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour. Once you speak to someone after running late for the office you are told to repeat the exercise tomorrow.

Review titled Worst Practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Alessandro Ciappei - Posted on 22 December 2023
I moved in e16 area and I need to change my gp. They are slow, not proactive and it's impossible to speak with the doctor. I had heart surgery and i'm still in recovering, cause some problems at workplace I'm under terrible stress, anxiety and depression. One day I faint on the floor at my home, the ambulance paramedic suggest to follow up with gp; from this day I call everyday and I never had possibility to speak with someone or have refer for blood test. Also, they send wrong prescription and I need to reorder twice. I'm looking for change practice and after the xmas holiday I will change it with hope that is not common on nhs this kind of service level.

Review titled Best Staff Ever
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Tatiana - Posted on 28 December 2023
I changed to this practice almost a year ago and have been extremely happy with their services. Booking an appointment might be a little difficult at first but they'll do their best to fit you in. I've had physical and phone appointments and have been professionally treated every time. Above all, the staff is welcoming and sympathetic towards patients, thank you for the hard work!

Review titled awful experience for telephone appointment booking
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 16 November 2023
it a surgery that is difficult to get appointment by the mean the suggest. i was on the phone for more than one hour on both my mobile and land line. it appears the pine is just set to give impression that someone is at the other end. on one of my phones, i started as caller number 30 and and was on number 14 after one hour of waiting. on my mobile phone i stated as number 4 and was still on number two after 40 minute their dr iq does not meet your request. it is not possible to book appointment on it dr iq has set questions that does not meet your request hence, you cannot get the right service on another occasion, i was on the line to trying to book appointment, but walked from my home which was about 35 minutes to the surgery, to find out that the phone was no engage and the receptionist was sat on the chair. when i informed him and he listened to my phone, he apologised that they have problem with their phone It is deceitful to keep patient waiting on phone for over an hour for a phone that is not actually maned by anyone after over an hour i have to end the call. my other alternative now is to attend accident and emergency for my health need. this experience is not an isolated one the phone never reached number one and i believe it was just a computer set up phone to make you hang up after remaining on the call for hours

Review titled Awful, flawed appointment booking service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Andy C - Posted on 27 November 2023
Trying to get a non-urgent (but medically important) appointment is deeply frustrating (and so far I haven't succeeded in doing so). They point you to the Dr Iq app 'for your convenience' but I've never been able to book an online consultation through this. Currently out of the 32 options only 3 are available, none of which cover my topic. The only option is therefore to phone up (you can't book appointments by going to the practice in person, which would be very convenient for me) where you join a long queue - invariably over 30 people waiting. I asked for a callback which came after an hour (glad I didn't wait on the phone) only to be told they only take bookings for that day - so you can never book an appointment in advance. If I'd been able to go in on the same day they had no appointments left anyway. So it seems the only way I can book an appointment is to try and phone at 8am and take my chances, hoping I get through before the appointments run out for that day. As I work it means I need to take a day off or work from home if possible (I can only do this one day a week) to make the call - but with no guarantee I'll get an appointment. Whoever designed this system has given no thought to the experience of patients - it's all about the convenience of the practice. I can understand the logic of trying to triage appointments but there must be a way of doing this that doesn't result in this awful patient experience. And I don't understand at all the inability to book non-urgent appointments in advance. Taking such requests out of the daily rush for appointments would help them manage better you'd think. Finally they sent me a text to give feedback on their new booking system - when I went to do that it said the survey was closed! Another example of them not really caring what their patients think.
