  1. Review titled Great Doctor

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Barbara Ruddock - Posted on 15 April 2025

I saw a really nice female doctor (sorry wont let me put her last name) today I would like to say how fantastic she was very thorough and listened to me. She explained everything to me. I feel I am finally getting somewhere with why I had been feeling so unwell. It was so refreshing to see a doctor who really cares. Thank you.

  2. Review titled Don't tell us when usual GP changes

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 March 2025

My usual GP keeps changing. I seem to have a new one almost every year, but the only way that I find out that my GP has changed is when I log in to the online system when I am ordering a repeat prescription, and I can see that the name of my usual GP at the top of the page has changed. I know we rarely get to see them anyway, but sometimes we have to give the name of our usual GP to other people, such as with medical benefits forms, optometrists, dentists etc. so we do need to know who they are and if they have changed. I wish the practice would let us know if our usual GP has changed.

  3. Review titled Appalling management of diabetes

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 March 2025

My mother was taken off a drug she was doing really well on and put on SGLT2 med with horrendous side effects which caused hbA1c of 65-70 mmol/mol and diabetic ketoacidosis. She was advised to come off SGLT2 immediately. She had appt at surgery and nurse said needed to speak to Dr to get her back on original medication and would call her. No one called for several days. She got nowhere when calling surgery. DKA is life threatening!!!! Finally Diabetes UK recommended calling NHs helpline and seeing if they could nudge the surgery. This worked thankfully as helpline realized how serious it was. Absolutely appalling patient care or should I say non-care. Good diabetes management is essential. The knock on effects on the body of poor management cause far more issues and costs to the NHS. My parents literally have to brace themselves before having a dealings with this surgery. It is always an uphill battle.

  4. Review titled Thank you

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Valerie Zurcher - Posted on 13 October 2024

I want to pass on my Thanks to the doctor I saw last Thursday 8th October I came to the surgery for an injection in my knee but mentioned to Doctor that I could feel I had viral meningitis coming on. Because of this, he quite rightly refused to do the injection and said I should go to the hospital he would arrange everything which he did! He called me that afternoon We picked up a letter for the hospital. At the hospital I had obs taken an ECG full blood count brain scan and x-ray on my back. A full mot. I was at the hospital from 3:40 pm until one 1.15 a.m. nine hours and came out with a prescription for morphine, paracetamol and Laxido which I’ve been taking. The consultant at the hospital said it was muscular, but I disagree because I’ve had this now at least 10 times and I know the symptoms. Previously, with these symptoms, I’ve been given co-codiene and just laid in bed for 7/10 days in absolute agony until the virus passed. Now I’ve been given morphine and paracetamol and it’s amazing. I’m not bedridden I can walk and move about and I just rest up and go to bed early. I’m not bedridden and just surviving on co-codiene! No one previously had the foresight to send me to hospital before. The morphine is an amazing painkiller combined with the paracetamol! Thank you I am really grateful that I’m not now in excruciating pain. The pain has nowcspread to my head, but this is manageable now I have the right pain killing medication! “Thank-you”’”

I rang as I was confused regarding my repeat prescription items and the request dates. She took the time and with great patience explained clearly the situation and made sure I understood the process.

  6. Review titled Great Vaccination Event

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 January 2024

Attended Vaccination event for flu and covid. Hundreds of people waiting in long queue down streets, many over 75 years of age, including mobility impaired, disabled and covid vulnerable. Obvious waiting time of several hours. One patient reported being there for 3 hours. Patients unable to attempt long wait walked away disgusted and bewildered. No distancing of patients, providing chairs, mask or gel. Other patients were reported as being ill as a result of being expected to stand for up to 3 hours. Eventually a steward appeared ignoring many people needing help and guidance, and only, on direct enquiry suggested that another queue by Health Centre entrance existed for disabled, high risk patients etc. Again no notices and the entrance area and both floors of centre was densely packed with people waiting for jabs, creating a high risk of respiratory infection including covid. No one appeared to be supervising patients or needed support for them. Staff appeared to be overworked and unable to clearly identify patients names, assess their medical history including past allergies or covid adverse reactions, or provide recovery areas. One nurse was having to do both flu and covid jabs , trying to identify patients by name, loading syringes, talk to patients, find jab sites from patients and dispose of sharps and used syringes. No masks were being used and vulnerable patients were not being given a safe space i.e. 2 metres. Also no privacy. The nurse observed was working at very quick speed without any time to rest or ask patients to wait 15 minutes after vaccination. Local information suggests that the centre is being paid £15 per vaccination for about 2 to 3 minutes work when 15 minutes is required by other health professionals. A number of people have adversely commented on this chaotic event and the discrimination and lack of planning which may well lead to an outbreak of covid due to the high patient density and complete lack of covid precautions., e.g. distance, gel and masks.

  7. Review titled Not a good impression

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 August 2023

Went in to check on an appointment , the receptionist had an attitude of dont care. When asked question what time phone call from Dr would be ,replied from her should be morning but maybe not . Before me I over heard her talk to a patient and she was so uncaring towards them. Not a good impression for me as I am a new patient and walked away very concern of service. when we joined we were impressed with another receptionist who was very helpful. So maybe this morning lady needs patient awareness training on her to talk to people.
