I feel that I have to leave a review to show my thanks to two Drs I have seen recently. I suffer from health anxiety and have been really struggling recently. These Drs took their time and showed such compassion that I was brought to tears. They are exactly what a Dr should be. Thank you so much.

My experience of this practice is very positive. I have found all the clinicians very thorough and take time to listen and explore different options. It can take some time to arrange appointments but I find the online consultation tool really helpful.

Thank you Jules. I will pass on your positive comments to the team as we always appreciate feedback. We have just recruited 2 new doctors so availability will certainly improve. We also try to keep continuity of care which means you see the same GP for ongoing care, which sometimes delays routine appointments. I’m sending this as a review because I could not find any way to email the practice. I do not want this to be a review and would rather just provide feedback, but cannot find out how to do that on your webpage. I’ve just received a text message about your open day next Saturday. The message says nothing about the day, doesn’t encourage attendance, doesn’t say what we might get out of coming, what we can expect, or even explain why you’re putting on the day . This seems like a real missed opportunity as many patients would not bother going to your website to find out more after receiving such a flat and unencouraging message as this.

Good Morning Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, the text messaging service is limited to what we can say so a basic text would hopefully encourage patients to ask us what's on offer. We have sent out personal invitations, posters are on display and the services attending have sent out various information to advetise this. We hope that this open day (for patients and the community) will be interesting, informative and useful. We have liver scanning, blood tests for diabetes, PSA screening if eligible, health checks, free food tasting, exercise machines and lots more which we were unable to put in a text sadly. I believe the response so far has been encouraging and we look forward to seeing as many peopole as possible on the day. Thanks Val Practice Manager

My daughter who is 17 saw practice nurse about a finger injury sustained 3 weeks prior to appointment which has notimproved since visiting Yate Minor Injuries and Southmead clinic . Response from Nurse “ well I’m not really sure what I can do “ while reading screen and not addressing patient ( a 17 year old !!) My daughter left after being told she would be contacted by phone and when asking When was told “ you’ll get an appointment within a week “ I’m sorry to say that this is not acceptable as she then called me extremely upset as she felt that she had not been listened to and did not no what was happening next

Thank you for taking the time to feed back and I sincerely apologise if she was distressed. at the outcome of her appointment. Having looked at the consultations and previous treatment I will write a full response to her in a separate letter. Please rest assured that here is a clear plan for follow up. I have seen a few doctors and they have been incredibly supportive and helpful - which is incredibly important when you are experiencing mental health issues. I have never felt rushed or not listened too. They have shown great compassion and very helpful strategies to deal with this.

I was sent to East Trees by my own surgery, Bradgate in Henbury. I was told that an appointment for a scan had been made yesterday for 1250 hours. When I presented at the check in desk, I was told that scans were only done on Wednesdays and Fridays, and that East Trees had no record of the above appointment. Given this surgery is a long way from where I live, and it took two buses for me to get there, I was not amused. However, after being told there was no appointment for me, I left the surgery in order to catch a bus home. It was pouring with rain, and I got drenched. When I finally reached the bus stop, drippin wet, my phone rang, and I was then told that staff had arrived to carry out scans. I therefore returned, getting yet further drenched. The man who carried out my scan was excellent, no complaint there. However, the utter confusion over what I was told was a non-existent appointment, including a phone call to Bradgate which led nowhere at East Trees, plus a drenching, and the four hours it had taken to get to, and return from, East Trees was stressful and appalling. I am so grateful that I have Bradgate Surgery for my medical care. Get the act together. I hope that I will never have to attend East Trees again! A dreadful experience!

Dear patient Thank you for taking the time to write about this and I sincerely apologise for what must have been a really negative experience. However, East trees only hosts the scanning organisations (retinal, DVT, Urology) by letting them use our rooms. I have no information as to which speciality this was and would ask that you contact them to escalate this as it was clearly an administrative error. Hello I tried to take my blood pressure yesterday and had to sit next to the lift with my back in full view of the waiting room. Oddly, I could not relax properly and even after two attempts had to give up because the readings were so high. The receptionist said a few people had made similar comments. It strikes me that a simple screen in front of the machine would give a little privacy and calm to people taking their blood pressure. I hope this comment is useful.

I am very grateful for the care I have received recently. I have recently suffered with both physical and mental health problems which needed treatment from a GP. They were kind, caring, knew their stuff, and acted swiftly. I would highly recommend their practice to anyone in the area. It can be difficult to get an appointment as the app doesn't work and you can't book appointments on line. The reception is busy, and the staff always on the phones. However, they are very polite and get you booked in as swiftly as they can. I didn't want to go into details about my health with the person I last spoke to, and they were very understanding.

We do our best to look after our patients and I will pass this message onto the team who appreciate feedback. yes- we are very busy all the time, but if you can use our e-consult service on our website you can request appointments there. Interestingly Thursday and Fridays are our quieter times so call us after lunchtime and I am sure you will be dealt with sooner. Thank you again for you comments Val - practice manager
