  1. Review titled Horrific experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

by taylor - Posted on 24 July 2024

Had the most shocking experience. Back and forth this place over my abdominal pain for years and still get turned away, ask for scans you get told no yet they will leave you sat in pain at such a young age. They left me sat in a waiting room for 20 minutes because a doctor didn’t have a clue on how to send over a prescription to my pharmacy. The doctors are very rude They have no time for you in their what’s so ever. Your needs don’t really matter you just get turned away!

  2. Review titled Difficult to get appointment

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Can’t get patches to work so have to get family member to add me as someone they care for to book appointments. They sent patches request in at 7:30am as I need to see a gp. Received a message saying an appointment had been arranged for me in a weeks time with a nurse practitioner despite me requesting a gp. Thought appointment would be within same day or following day.

  3. Review titled Accessing Services

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I find the current system of accessing appointments at the surgery unhelpful for the older generation. Both my parents are in their eighties and don't find accessing the Patches system easy and they don't use the internet. This is left up to me to be able to log a request, this information is then sent to my father who struggles with just being sent a link, fortunately he has a phone that can access the internet but I still need to do this for him. I work full time which means this is sometimes difficult for me to be able to act straight away. I think for the older generation a simple phone call or text with the information contained is better than sending a link.

  4. Review titled The best surgery

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I got efficient and thorough care from this practice. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help me. The new way to access appointments worked well for me and my family. We submitted Patches requests and have been contacted on the same day by GPs and had our problems managed. We've had face to face appointments with GPs and Advanced Nurses and they've given us amazing care. I never felt rushed and I've always had good experiences. I couldn't ask for a better surgery to care for me and my family. Thank you to everyone who works there for looking after us.

  5. Review titled Poor range of blood test appointments

Rated 2 stars out of 5

    by Dave Fripp-Selmer - Posted on 18 June 2024

I received a letter asking for me to phone Eastham Group Practice to make a blood test appointment. After waiting 20 minutes to get through, was only offered appointments on one date when I am working away. When I asked for a different date I was told to call back later in week. I work full-time with hours that exceed the opening hours of the practice. I do not have time to wait 20 minutes on the phone more than once. Please can someone call me back when there are more appointments available. The next time somebody issues a letter to request that I make an appointment, please can you check that there are appointments available on more than one day before a strongly worded letter in bold capital letters is sent to me demanding that I make an appointment if I want my medication to continue being issued. The receptionist I spoke to advised that they are computer generated, but they would have been designed by a human. The design needs to be looked at again if the availability of appointments is limited and contacting the practice isn't urgent afterall!

  6. Review titled Telephone call

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I called the practice and selected the medication line after being told for 20 minutes there was one person ahead of me in the queue I was cut off with a message that said due to unexpected circumstances the line was closed. Surely if tge line us closed I should not have been holding for 20 minutes. I gave better things to do with my time

  7. Review titled Excellent Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 July 2024

I don't visit my surgery often as I've always been quite healthy but my most recent experience was excellent. I got exceptional service from the receptionists. They thoroughly explained the changes to their system and helped me create an account on Patchs. I submitted a Patchs and was contacted by the GP within a few hours. I had a face to face appointment and was given a thorough examination. I felt listened to from the moment I contacted the practice. I was very impressed.

  10. Review titled Appointments

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Lynne Dunleavy - Posted on 11 July 2024

I am disappointed in the new system as the only face to face appointments always seem to be with a nurse practitioner. I never see a gp even though the surgery is empty when I have attended or I am sent to the surgery next door for my appointment. Even if I ask for an appointment to speak to a gp face to face I am seen by the nurses. I preferred the previous system when I could go on line and book an appointment at a time and date suitable to me and have the ability to choose who I spoke with. It is difficult to establish a good relationship with a gp now.
