Review titled Very bad practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Mostapha k - Posted on 07 January 2025
Unprofessional ,unhelpful and rude receptionists who are there sitting patronising patients Giving people wrong information not taking in consideration their conditions. I had a very bad experience with the receptionist who was on duty on January 06th evening who was patronising, repeating wrong information and refusing to listen to my explanation for my condition She requested me to attend a chemist for an over counter Antibiotic course ,only to find out that the service was only for women and not even avaible at that chemist even if I was a female patient . Her negative attitude and a patronising stance with a tone of voice screaming disrespect impacts the image of the practice giving it bad reviews and losing patients

Review titled Used to be a great practice, not anymore
Rated 1 star out of 5

came to surgery to request an urgent appointment, was told by receptionist to expect a call either on the day or the next about 1pm from a clinician. waited until late afternoon, no phone call, was in extreme pain decided to got to a&e. needless to say I am still waiting for the call and it’s 4:30 the next day. very poor service ellis practice, this is not the first time I have ended up going to a&e because I received no response from the surgery and have had to call nhs111 or just go to a&e. I do not know what is going on at this practice but whatever it is you are failing some patients and it is not good enough. Since Covid the service has declined dramatically, we have been told by the government that we have to live with it as it isn’t going anywhere, so when will this practice start providing an adequate service for all its patients? I will also comment on the fact that the surgery was empty when I arrived not a person in sight, if this surgery was being run as it should that would never be the case. If the intention is to close this surgery the powers that be are going the right way about and I say shame on you, destroying a service that was great once upon a time.

I was dreading the call. You listened, understood/felt the urgency, and I couldn't have had a better outcome. I am so grateful. I hope next time you pick up the phone for me. Please take care, and I can rest better by having my stuff all sorted in time.. Best regards, Hussain

Review titled Disappointed and let down
Rated 1 star out of 5
by dilip - Posted on 12 July 2024
Very very frustrated at how difficult it is to contact this surgery. I am a health care professional - I feel extremely sorry for All your patients who try to contact you. I wanted to point out some major errors which your surgery has made after a patient was discharged from a renal unit. You do not have a contactable email address which is available to the public. I have phoned three times this week - kept waiting 40 mins,1 hour and 1 hour 11 !! Each time as caller no 1 before being disconnected. Awful . Which authority monitors your performance? I think they need to take some action .

Review titled Great staff if you can get in contact
Rated 2 stars out of 5

Unable to reach them by phone, unable to do an eConsult despite its being daytime and working hours. Unable to make an appointment via the nhs app. How do you ever get to see a professional ? Can only get even worse when walk-ins stop. This isn’t the first time for this issue, seems to be consistent post covid.

Review titled Awful practice with appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 22 February 2024
I try to use bare minimum NHS resources. No one like to be ill. The appointment booking system is completely awful and not helpful. Only way yo book appointment is patient access. If u miss slit you don't get to see Dr. There is no booking system over phone even after waiting 2 hours. When you ask the staff to book appointment they started educating how to access patient access. What on earth you decide to educateperson when they simple need to speak to Dr to get further assessment. They readout report over the phone and decided for you weather you need to speak to Dr or not. They lead the conversation to such a aggregation level the patient who is suffering, who wants to be heard get frustrated. We all understand no one like to hear raised voice but the senior staff is most rude and inconsiderate to ill patients. That senior member of staff lady was not ready to listen but eager show me how to book appointment online. It was not genuinely working online.I wish this ppl suffer with their own health and don't get any help from NHS. I don't know where to go if your own gp practice don't want to help out. Changing gp can be solution but this practice zero star out of 5.

Review titled Big disappointment again!
Rated 1 star out of 5

I haven't resolved my health problem for months now. Been waiting to be referred to the specialist and each time I have to waste my time repeating myself again and again and nothing is happening. The reception staff is very unprofessional, hangs up in the middle of a conversation etc. When asking about my scheduled appointment, they are unable to confirm I have one, even if I have been told by the DR.

Review titled Worst practice ever. Avoid.
Rated 1 star out of 5

I’ve been a patient at the practice for over 20 years now. The quality of care and service from this practice has only been declining year after year. The worst of the service is the reception staff the most rude and disrespectful and unhelpful people I have ever interacted with, I do not know how they still have their jobs or if they are trained to be this way. Impossible to get an appointment, never do anything right, have to be chased up for absolutely everything and will randomly decide to deregister you from their systems whenever they feel like it with no explanation and no help to get back on the system. If it were not for the doctors I have been seeing since over 20 years ago I would not have stayed for a second. Definitely looking into switching which is a huge shame as some of the doctors there are incredible. Will absolutely be taking this up with further external organisations and ombudsmen because this practice should not still be running the way it is currently. Disgraceful that I’ve been to urgent care and a& more times in the past 3 years than my own gp. External investigation is critically needed here to assess the absolute mockery of the NHS system that this practice is.

Review titled Unprofessional approach to patients.
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 30 March 2023
I have been a patient of Ellis Practise I was happy for some time, but the last few years is getting worst and worst. The reception staff is rude, suggesting changing the practice rather than finding a solution to a problem. Some doctors are forgetting to send documents, some don't listen carefully etc. Every single time there are some issues. I do not recommend it.
