Review titled Needs closing
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Leanne Crookes - Posted on 21 March 2023
I personally left this Dr's at the beginning of 2022 due to rude staff and never being able to get an appointment, I felt like my health care needs were not being met, as I am diabetic and was having issues with my periods and my diabetes not being monitored accordingly. Today 21/03/2023 I called at 8am to make an appointment for my mother who has Motor Neuron Disease and cannot look after herself. I was on hold for 3 hours. And then when I did finally get to speak to the receptionist I got told mid april is the next appointment. Or I could call back tomorrow and "try my luck". This sorry excuse for a drs surgery is failing it's duty of care. They are no longer capable of caring for their patients. Their staff are mostly rude, unhelpful and over half of the receptionist don't know a knee from an elbow. For example my mum needed an open ended sick note, I got told that I would need certain documents from her Dr at the hospital, I got the documents and they still refused to do the sick note that she was more than entitled to due to her Motor Neuron Disease progression making her disabled and unable to look after herself let alone work. She also had a Dr refuse her tests when trying to find out what was wrong with her (she should have been booked in for an mri at the very least). A Dr also told her that taking one of the medications she's on would do nothing for her due to it being a small dose, my mother stopped taking that medicine due to that remark by the Dr and ended up in hospital a week later due to symptoms from not taking the medication.

Review titled Frustrating and upsetting
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Kate Barrett - Posted on 14 December 2022
Community Matron recommended a review of my mother’s memory as she is no longer able to care for my father at home. ( He is end of life and has not been seen by a GP at home since discharged from hospital care.) I called practice to follow up both home visit & test. Lovely practice nurse suggested test may not be necessary as Mother had diagnosis of small vessel disease following scan in 2020. GP did not agree & insisted I being my mother to the surgery for formal test& did not listen to my concerns about leaving my father ( who also has dementia) alone at home. We waited over 20 minutes for the appointment & new bloods were needed. Better communication & holistic caring for families in these challenging circumstances.

Review titled New doctor v previous
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Phil Aldersley - Posted on 09 December 2022
Having been with one doctor who we trusted and liked, it was the first time I had met my new doctor. I have to say that it was great to find an excellent "like for like" replacement. Personable, professional, helpful and caring. Carefully assessed all I had to say and took appropriate action whilst explaining why he was taking this action and answered all my queries. Couldn't have asked for better, thank you :-)
