Review titled Unhelpful receptionist
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Bhavini patel - Posted on 17 October 2024
I phoned up the surgery this afternoon as I needed help with a scan I was waiting for from the hospital. The receptionist I spoke to was so unhelpful she did not want to help me and told me to go on Google and speak the information myself. I found this very stressful and it left me feeling extremely anxious as I do not have access to Google which I explained but she was not ready to listen to anything I had to say. Patients are already nervous when they have health issues and investigations going on and it's not acceptable for someone to give a response in this manner. She wa very rude and should not be working in an environment dealing with vulnerable patients.

Review titled Horribly rude and self entitled reception staff
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 05 November 2024
I have witnessed reception staff being rude and aggressive/defensive with patients for no reason. One in particular is so nasty and clearly has a huge chip on her shoulder. They are also giving out wrong information and turning patients away they don’t know how to do their jobs. Lucky for me a nurse stepped in and helped with my booking for a blood test.

Review titled Great service from the nurse
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sveta patel - Posted on 27 September 2024
I came into the practice today for a gynaecological test - a procedure I find particularly awkward. The nurse was warm, welcoming, patient and made conversation which immediately put me at ease. She talked me through the whole process before we started and told me what to expect and she did this again as she was doing the test. She was efficient and quick with the test and, again, immediately put me at ease. She provided me time and privacy to remove clothes for the test - all of these things made the whole experience far better than I had anticipated. Please do pass my thanks to her - she was excellent.

Review titled Frustration with Patches
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 August 2024
Communicating with the practice via the Patches system today has been extremely frustrating as it seems to be available for very small windows. I want to send a non-urgent request that doesn't need an immediate response - why can we not submit requests 24/7- surely you want to encourage less phone calls to the surgery. There has to be a better way than this.

Review titled Poor Communication
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 16 August 2024
I am a repeat prescriptions for the rest of my life. On Tuesday 13 August 2024, I submitted my repeat prescription for the 7 meds on line as I am due for a major surgery the following week. The pharmacist of the admitting hospital instructed that I request my medication earlier than the date so as not to run out soon after discharge from hospital. On Friday 16 August 2024, I proceeded to the nominated pharmacy. To my utter surprise, only 2 of the 7 meds had been authorised. I went the the surgery to enquire the reason for no authorisation of the 5 meds. I have the receptionist my details.. She advised me that the prescription request had been rejected. I asked for the reason - she responded that “I am not a doctor - I can tell you what is infront of me”. I then requested to see the doctor. I was asked to take a seat. I assume that she then asked another receptionist as I saw another lady talking with the receptionist who has assisted me. The other lady the called me to inform me that the request had been rejected as I had submitted early. I then informed the lady that I was instructed by the hospital pharmacist to request all medication early as I was getting admitted for surgery the following week. Questions - why couldn’t the first receptionist I spoke with inform me the exact reason the the none authorisation? Why doesn’t the surgery possibly sent some sort of communication such as a text to inform someone of none authorised prescription request instead of leaving someone in the dark? Ask for the reason why the request had been submitted earlier than the correct time as I have never submitted a repeat prescription request before the due date? Such poor communication can cause unwarranted stress and anxiety.

Review titled Communication a nightmare
Rated 3 stars out of 5

I attempted to try and get a doctors appointment the system opened at 2 pm. My Internet was down. The phone line was engaged to 2:17. I finally managed to get through. I was told patches is now closed. I said to the receptionist or the lady who answered the phone, A****y how is anybody supposed to make an appointment? If they have no Internet? Because on the telephone message? It says you give your details to the receptionist and they will book the appointment for you on patches she said this doesn’t exist. We don’t do it but the message on the machine says it definitely does patches is open again at 8 o’clock in the morning was her responce. Very disappointing. I’ve regular appointments with the nurses they are all great however to try and get a doctors appointment there is next to impossible all I need is some antibiotics for an ear infection. I have suffered with ear infections all my adult life so I know what is required It’s not like I’m gonna be a bother to them.

Review titled Appointment system
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by KAPILA PATTANI - Posted on 18 April 2024
I recently had an unfortunate experience with the appointment system at a GP practice. Despite of logging and calling several times during their operating hours, I was unable to reach anyone to schedule an appointment. When I finally did get through, the receptionist advised she can not book the appointment call 111 if you are in too much pain . The lack of accessibility and long wait times for appointments are deeply concerning, especially for those in need of immediate medical attention. The GP practice needs to address these issues promptly to provide better service to its patients.

Review titled Disappointing
Rated 2 stars out of 5

Enderley Road Medical Centre certainly seems to be going downhill ever since implementing this patches booking system! An example I have was this morning when I phoned up to inform the receptionist that I have no access to my email currently in order to reset my patches log in to book an appointment. I asked in this case can I be assisted on over the phone (as it suggests in the phone options) however apparently if you have a patches account, you are not able to be assisted with a booking via reception!? I queried this about a month ago I was able to do this when my internet connection was down. I was then told that the criteria has changed!? I said if that’s the case what happens with elderly if they don’t have online access? I was told they make an exception in those cases as that’s part of this criteria. I would say this would count as discrimination in this case. I have been a patient of this medical centre for 40 years and have never seen it this bad. I’m not sure if this was lazy reception work or bad management, but it needs looking in to!!

Review titled Excellent care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Alice Cowan - Posted on 08 February 2024
I was rather nervous about this appointment but both the nurse and doctor carrying out the minor surgery were excellent. Theg were kind, caring, thorough, efficient, put me at ease, and explained everything clearly. The whole procedure was painless. The doctor also referred me to the hospital and I received a text within an hour to say this had been done. Thank you both so much for your expertise, efficiency and bedside manner. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this practice.
