Review titled No appointments
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 August 2023
I have found it impossible to see a health professional. I have been off with stress and anxiety for 2 weeks. I need to renew a fit note and it had proved impossible. It looks like that I will lose my job because of Everest House being so awful.

Thank you for your feedback. You can request the extension of a fit note online though a form on the practice website or through use of the eConsult form online, also available on the website or the NHS App. We can backdate fit forms if required so they are not prioritised alongside the clinical emergencies that we need to see day to day. The extension of an existing fit note is not something that requires an appointment and can be completed alongside general admin. Without your details I am unable to check this was completed for you but I do hope that if your fit note was renewed in time that the above information will be helpful for future. Doctor listened and took action by referring us to the right medical professionals. He also added some medicine to help with the illness. Feel very confident with the Doctor and the future of my health.

Review titled Poor time management
Rated 2 stars out of 5

The staff is lovely, but they tend to refer a lot to phone appointments and you don't receive any specific answers unless you insist. For specific tests, I received no phone call, email or message explaining my results were available- I went into the practice one day to be told that my results had been there for a while, but no one had notified me. So I asked to see the results, and I had to go another day to get them. Then I received information on the NHS app regarding when the following phone appointment was, and I was phoned hours in advance. When I called the practice on the hour my appointment was, I was put on a queue where I would be the 10th person. I simply gave up.

Thank you for your feedback. Regrettably we are unable to keep patients informed of normal results so we do advertise and ask patients to register for online services/download the NHS app which will allow them to see results online. Please be assured that our doctors will attempt to contact patients a few times before marking a telephone consultation as not attended. We are aware that on occasion when calls are early or delayed that this has an impact on patients. Lisa Flaherty Practice Manager

Review titled Difficult to get appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 26 June 2023
I phoned at 8 am and was in a cue that took 50 minutes before it was answered, I was then told to go online and fill out details of my illness which I did, then I was informed by the website that I had to ring the surgery for an appointment, I don’t feel well at all and I don’t need this added stress to get seen by a doctor.

Dear Patient I am sorry to hear that your experience of the phones and eConsult was disappointing and resulted in additional stress when trying to seek help. I do hope that your experience with the doctor has you now feeling better and that subsequent contacts with the practice have showed some improvement now that we have implemented a new phone system and triage model. Kind regards Lisa Flaherty Practice Manager

Review titled Frustratingly inadequate
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 20 April 2023
The service provided has sharply declined since the pandemic. Appointment availablity is practically non-existent. There are never any appointments available to book online and you have to wait 20-30 mins on the phone to try to get through to book one the old fashioned way typically with a 2-3 week wait. If you pop into the surgery and talk to someone in reception, you'll be advised something completely different depending on who you talk to. There's no consistancy in guidance. This also applies to issuing medication. You can make a medication request one day and it'll be denied then make the same request a few days later and it'll be issued just as it always had pre-pandemic. It seems to depend on which doctor is answering the question. There's no patient / doctor relationship anymore. They don't have time to read your health record fully anymore. Documented health issues are often missed. You are no longer a patient with a health concern that needs care and attention. You are just a number on a list of problems that need dealing with in the quickest way possible. If it's non-urgent, that usually boils down to either fobbing you off to an online service or deny the request without offering alternative solutions or avenues of exploration. You're left with the option of either paying for private care (if you can afford it) or suffer in silence.

Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback, and we’re truly sorry to hear about your experience. We understand the frustration caused by long wait times, inconsistent guidance, and the difficulty in accessing care. Since the pandemic, we’ve faced significant challenges in managing increased demand, but we are working hard to improve our services. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes and recently updated our phone system to reduce waiting times and have introduced a callback function to make the process more efficient. We’re also working to ensure more consistency in the guidance provided and improve continuity of care by operating a triage model ensuring that all patients are assessed by a GP. We appreciate you sharing your concerns and are committed to improving your experience. Kind regards Lisa Flaherty Practice Manager

i am trying to advise the surgery they are trying to contact the wrong person with an enquiry i received from them by phone. Having been number 1 in the queue for 35 mins to tell them of their mistake I gave up. This happens all the time. The service to their patients has dropped from excellent to pathetic

Dear Mr Slater Thank you for your feedback, and we apologise for the frustration caused. We recognise the frustrations our old phone system caused for patients. I am pleased to report that having now updated our phone system, to include a new callback function, we has significantly reduced waiting times. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and are working to ensure a smoother experience for all our patients. Kind regards Lisa Flaherty Practice Manager
