    I went to the doctor with a suspected yeast infection and she said she couldn't do a smear because I'm 16 and without parents with me, which I think is unfounded and biased because I've had smears done before.

    Very good , was made to feel at ease , the only thing I would say was to be asked if I would like a chaperone, due to being seen by a male GP, does not bother me but it might for other people. He was very polite and thorough

    I am writing to express my concern regarding the delayed appointment I have experienced and the recent refusal to carry out a Pap smear. I was informed that I am not eligible for this procedure due to my age, and I would appreciate clarification on this matter. As a patient, I value the importance of preventative care and would like to understand why age is a determining factor in this instance, especially when it concerns the early detection of potential health issues. I would be grateful for more information on the NHS guidelines related to this and any potential alternatives available to me. am writing to express my deep concern regarding the continuous delays in the tests that have been requested for my condition. For over a year now, I have been repeatedly postponed, and this ongoing delay is becoming increasingly difficult to manage. My situation is particularly urgent as I have not had a menstrual period for over eight months, which is causing me significant distress. Given the seriousness of this issue, I kindly ask for your immediate attention to ensure that the necessary tests are conducted as soon as possible. I would greatly appreciate your prompt action in addressing this matter and keeping me informed of the next steps.

    Dear Andrea, Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns with us. We understand how frustrating delays in care can be, and we appreciate the opportunity to provide clarity and reassurance. Regarding your cervical screening request, NHS guidelines determine eligibility for routine smear tests, and unfortunately, we are unable to carry out a test outside of these guidelines, as the laboratory would not be able to process the sample. You can find more details on the NHS cervical screening programme here: NHS Cervical Screening Guidelines. However, we completely understand your concerns, and we encourage you to submit a Medical query on our triage, opens at 8.00am and 1.00pme to so that you can discuss your symptoms in more detail. If there are any underlying health concerns, we can explore alternative investigations to ensure you receive the appropriate care. In regard to the delays in your requested tests, we sincerely apologise for any distress this has caused. Our nurse, Becky, is happy to speak with you in person to provide more guidance and reassurance. Please add a note to your online triage, and we can get you booked in with Becky as well.     I felt unwell last Monday, submitted triage at 8am. Received a phone call at 8.19am telling me I had an appointment booked for 10.30. Diagnosed with a chest infection, antibiotics prescribed and back to work. Took a couple of days off and am feeling so much better. Thanks Fairbrook

    I’ve had such a positive experience at Fairbrook Medical Centre. My doctor is an exceptional doctor always caring, patient, and professional. She takes the time to really listen and makes sure you feel heard and understood. Her calm and reassuring manner makes a huge difference, especially when you’re not feeling your best. I truly appreciate her dedication and the genuine care she shows during every appointment. Thank you, for being such a wonderful doctor!

    Despite misgivings when the online triage system was introduced I have to say I am very impressed. Today's experience offered the usual excellent service. I submitted the form at 8am and, following a speedy callback, by 10am I was being seen by a delightful GP who went to a lot of trouble to explain and help resolve my symptoms.

    Usually I find Fairbrook medical centre absolutely excellent, but on this particular occasion I was very distressed and the doctor was very unsupportive and not at all empathetic.

    Earlier this month, I started to experience painful ears. One of the practice nurses told me that on examination, my ears were blocked and told me to make an appointment to irrigate my ears. I was given an appointment for the following week and I had my ears flushed out. The nurse was superb, I was called in to see her, on time and she was very professional and empathetic. Unfortunately, I started to experience a great deal of pain in my right ear. I completed the online triage form at 0830 in the morning and by 0900, I was contacted by one of the Practice staff, and I was offered, a face-to-face appointment for that afternoon. I saw the Doctor and she was delightful, she was very professional and caring, and she prescribed an antibiotic spray which has worked successfully. I was seen on time and I picked up my prescription at Wellswood Pharmacy within 20 minutes of my arrival at the surgery. My family and I have been with Fairbrook Medical Center for over 36 years now and we would be at no other medical practice.
