  1. Review titled Cannot get an appointment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Last week I tried a number of times to get an appointment, the last time I was told to go to Teddington Memorial Hospital, which I did yesterday, the doctor sent me medication, and told me to get the next appointment with my GP, I tried again today, no chance.

Dear Lynn Garnham, I'm sorry that you have not been able to get an appointment. We are informed by our patients that we have very good appointment availability, and we have patients who have multiple appointments each week. You need to ensure that you are online just before 2pm (the day before) or 8am on the day. Of course, like all surgeries we cannot see everyone, and this is why we have 111, Teddington Memorial Hospital and Pharmacies to support us to care for patients. Thank you, Fairhill Medical Practice.

  2. Review titled horrible

Rated 1 star out of 5

The so called GP I saw today, had the most unprofessional aggressive approach yet to be seen by me from any NHS GP. He made sure I feel ashamed and guilty that have made an appointment to be able to bring my ill child to him! After torturous attempts to get an appointment from 8 am, when after lots of fights and stress got an appointment for 11 am to see him only to be told off by him! We spent 5 minutes in his room and he spent literally 30 seconds to check my child's vital signs( while he was telling me off) and 4 minutes continuing telling us off why we have come and how he could be in Barbados instead of Kingston if he could cure cold! I did tell him my concerns and why I felt it was appropriate to bring my ill child to see a GP and other concerning issues that are important for my child's health to no avail. I am still very concerned for my child's health as he did not even bothered to check him properly. If he dare to treat me in this aggressive rude threatening manner, as a long standing patient of the practice that barely needed to use their service, and be in medical field myself, I dread to think how he treats other patients who don't have a voice or any knowledge in this field. and for the record: your unprofessional ,threatening, manner will not put me off from bringing my ill child to see a doctor next time!! What does put me off though, is the extremely stressful booking procedure to see a doctor who is not doing his job proeprly and is not bothered carrying our a basic proper investigations to address the concerns. I am more concerned now for my child's health than before visiting this so called Doctor! The whole booking system, management and doctors need a huge and quick improvement which I really hope they do as this can be a lovely local family doctor practice in the area. At the moment is a few million light years away from it.

  3. Review titled Fairhill - doing their very best in difficult circumstances

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Andy Lynch - Posted on 07 January 2023

I have been on the Fairhill patient list for 25 years, and over that time have had excellent treatment and always found the team there helpful and courteous. Like many public services these days, it cannot be easy operating a GP surgery, and I can see how much effort the Fairhill team put in serving their patients. Yes, it is not easy to book an appointment. However, with ever lengthening patient lists and workloads, and continuing difficulties in recruiting GPs, makes the surgery's job very difficult. But, these are issues that need addressing at the national rather than local level. As one of the other feedback commentators has mentioned, Fairhill compares very favorably against other surgeries, and I agree. Keep up the good work Fairhill team!
