    Barely sat down and my name was called on the screen. Once I went to see the practice nurse I was in and out in less than 5 minutes.

    I contacted the GP practice last week after experiencing acute back pain which I could not control with over the counter pain relief. I was given an appointment that morning and was called back within the first hour of the 4 hour window. The GP who I spoke to was very helpful and informative and reassured me greatly. He prescribed me some stronger pain relief and my condition has quickly improved. I rarely use the GP service however my experience last week was very positive.

    I saw a Practice Nurse with two complaints that have been affecting me for a long time. I tried self medicating at home but with no or little result. W was very patient and kind even when I became emotional. It was such a relief to have been able to see her….I am more confident, comfortable and sleeping at night now thanks to her help. Nurse is brilliant. Thank you so much.

    I have always had a great service from this practice. I know that lots of things have changed recently and I imagine these changes are as challenging for the team at the practice to adjust to as they are for patients. My experiences have still been good once I got through to speak to a person. I want to say thank you to the, for the hard work they do to help us all, keep well or get well. The recent review of my meds was by message but allowed me to comment and was actually quite efficient, whilst taking less time for everyone.

    I had pre booked a face to face GP appt whilst abroad. The day we arrived back he sent me to A&E to investigate my back issue and I was admitted there and then Treatment for my cancer started within 4 days ! One hiccup, my blood thinners were paused in case surgery was necessary but your pharmacist cancelled my repeat order and I had to persist to get it re-instated. GP rang me in my hospital bed on Monday next and I am now home having a call this morning from your care co-irdinator, excellent all round, thank you. One negative, please review,shorten the telephone 'greeting'; we appreciate your are busy stretched but listening for minutes each time we ring you is onerous and needs to change 😥

    Ive been a patient with Fallodan Way since 2006 and over the years have felt well cared for and had confidence that if I need them they are there for me. However over the past few years this confidence has been completely eroded and today I’ve left Fallodan Way and registered with another GP surgery that has an outstanding cqc rating. It all started in August 2022 when I became unwell and really needed my GP surgery to be there for me. Unfortunately it started with the constant battle to get an appointment - it seemed that it depended on who answered the phone whether you got an appt or not. Then the pharmacy team recommended an over the counter medicine that was totally inappropriate for my needs and I’m sure it contributed to making my symptoms worse. The pharmacy team on 2 occasions cancelled medication I had on repeat prescription without informing me causing me a lot of distress. raised with them and was met with a very defensive response. I was so unwell that I went to my parents for 3 months and I temporarily registered with their GP surgery - the contrast was stark. I was taken seriously., and treated with care, respect and kindness. I had some tests done there and when I returned to Bristol I left the test results at Fallodan Way reception in an envelop marked for the GPs attention. A month later I found out that these never reached the Gp, or where put onto my records but rather were lost which resulted in an afternoon of searching by the reception team to find. On another occasion I phoned to find out about a hospital referral, and when the person checked my record she said ‘oh they are looking after you very well, aren’t they’ in a sarcastic disdainful tone. On another occasion when I challenged the receptionist about the inconsistencies applying their appointment policy she replied with’ well if you don’t like it you can go elsewhere’. On another occasion I got a call from someone trying to change an appt with one of the GPs that I didn’t have - it turned out the appointment was with another patient. Overall I found the interactions with Fallodan Way to be combative, distainful, incompetent and frenzied, and most importantly that my GP surgery didn’t care about my health or well being. Thankfully I recovered and haven’t had any interaction with Fallodan Way since about February 2023 however I’ve lived with the constant worry that when I need a GP again I will have to deal with the same battles and attitude. Then this week I needed to make a routine non urgent appointment with the GP, and assuming that surely Fallodan Way would’ve sorted out their issues and it’ll go smoothly, I called up to make a non urgent routine appointment to be met with the same response ‘there are no appintments call back tomorrow’ in the same combative tone. It is not possible to book online. I have tried to complain about all of this to Fallodan Way but they just don’t make this process easy and hence why I’ve put this review on here.

    Very helpful, friendly, patient staff on reception. On the phone, once I get through, the receptionists again try and do their best to respond to my request. Occasionally in the past I have been irritated because something hasn’t worked as it should, and occasionally I have have seen their tiredness or frustration. On both sides these are rare but totally understandable responses, and never has anyone behaved inappropriately. Almost all the time all the time they do a great job, which is impressive considering however stretched the system is. I have the same experience with the nurses and doctors. All the doctors I have come across have never made me feel rushed or a ‘time waster’ during a consultation, they have responded promptly to follow on referrals, given sound advice, been clear about waiting times and other options. They have rung me when they say and been both informative and appropriately decisive. Whether face to face or on the phone I have felt listened to. I rate this practice very highly, and very much appreciate the service I receive. I can only compare my experience with that of friends and family, and both my husband and I feel very relived with the choice we made when our previous practice closed
