  1. Review titled Not sure why they exist

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 August 2024

I have been suffering with ill health since April and it’s ongoing. I have had to diagnose myself, pay for a private GP to get a referral, purchase my own medical equipment and research symptoms. Whenever I try to see a GP, I mainly get passed on to a clinical practitioner (nurse) and then fobbed off. I finally got a head MRI, from my cardiologist, that I paid for, which shows demyelination and brain scarring. The practice has not discussed this with me once. Only through me pressing them on subjects has it ever come up. Not even a courtesy call! I’m left at home slowly dying, or at least that’s what it feels like. I also have chronic hypoxemia. They dismiss this. Save yourself the stress and find a practice that actually understands that they work for you and not their bank balance or the pharmaceutical companies

  2. Review titled Totally overwhelmed, unable to deliver meaningful service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Jon - Posted on 29 July 2024

I cannot re-order my prescription medication because GPS requires a review. GPS does not arrange this for me. I have to use Patches ai/telephone (with a typical 60 minutes queue)/present at the surgery at 8am, none of which will guarantee an appointment; all the time the clock is ticking until I run out of essential medication. I know they are completely overwhelmed and unable to respond to the simplest request anymore, but this situation is as bizarre as it is stressful for the patient.

Dear Jon Thank you for your feedback on your recent experience when ordering your medication. Your medication reviews are essential to ensure you are on the correct medication and the correct amount for your condition. As you condition may improve or worsen we need to monitor medication. Our policy is to inform a GP or pharmacist to review this when your medication is requested. This flags up automatically. Medication can be requested online, post or in person. Many Thanks Jacqui Coleman Practice Manager

  4. Review titled Great care

Rated 1 star out of 5

by JAYDEE - Posted on 05 June 2024

I recently had a consultation with a clinician, she was extremely helpful, caring and showed great care and attention to my health issue. When I called the practice to arrange an appointment, the receptionist was very considerate and caring of my reason for making contact, she offered arranged for a telephone call the same morning and now I feel so much better. Thank you so much.

  5. Review titled Appalling experience with this surgery

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 May 2024

Appallingly unhelpful attitude geared entirely towards avoiding letting you book an in-person appointment. Other local surgeries allow you to book online, here you only get an appointment if you take a day off, call repeatedly, then can get to the surgery within 30 minutes of being called. Also multiple attempts to fob you off with a visit to another surgery, despite having said you have no way of getting there.

Ranworth Surgery have been first class turning around my repeat prescriptions. Getting an appointment to see the Doctor is pretty straight forward using the Ask my GP relatively new service. I phone in the morning and see the Doctor same day. Treated with utmost respect and kindness

  7. Review titled No Sense Of Urgency

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 May 2024

A very close family member recently went to this GP because of a suspected infection. They were able to go to the practice to submit a sample, and they were only informed that the sample will be sent and would only come the day after the upcoming bank holiday. If it has been confirmed as an infection, that’s the only time they could see the GP. My family member asked if they could see the GP sooner, but the receptionists insisted on the procedure. They were only advised to drink water and if it becomes worse, go to a walk in centre. This happened on a Friday. I was a bit alarmed, as it would taken them four whole days of nothing before it could be treated. So, I decided to contact online 111 and we were able to speak to an off-hours GP, who, upon speaking to my family member, was able to diagnose it as an infection and prescribe an antibiotic right away, much to our relief. I am appalled at the lack of care our GP Practice had shown. It might be a day before their long weekend, but illness does not stop for holidays. They did not show any sense of urgency nor quality of care patients need. It is disappointing and sad, and this appalling culture should stop in the NHS.

Dear Anonymous I am sorry to read that you did not recieve efficent service from The Family Doctors. We have procedures in place for safeguarding reasons, however at the moment suspected water infections can be seen by a pharmacist, which is where our care navigators should have signposted your family member to. This will be re looked at and staff will be retrained. Yours sincerely Jacqui Coleman The Family Doctors

  8. Review titled Super Asthma Nurse at Whitehills Surgery Aylesbury

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by James Barry Wilson - Posted on 25 May 2024

I recently needed to talk to an Asthma nurse at the surgery and received a call (although I had to wait three weeks) from Asthma nurse who allowed me the time to discuss my issue and having prescribed for me followed up the initial call two weeks later as agreed to suggest the way forward. The surgery receives many negative comments (many of which I can understand) but they should be balanced when there are positive experiences for patients. Thank you 👏👏

  9. Review titled Terrible Practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

tried to secure another appointment on their online service. Was logged on at 7:55am this morning. at 8:00am the appointments were opened. Started completing the form for an appointment. at 8:05am, the online service is closed. found the following times available for the online service advertised below. I am now convicted they have a real issue with clinical staffing. the service is a joke. I will add this experience to my existing complaint with icb. how is this practice allowed to get away with this? gp Surgery Service Times Monday08:00 - 08:10 Tuesday08:00 - 10:45 Wednesday08:00 - 08:10 Thursday08:00 - 08:10 Friday08:00 - 08:00 Quote Page 2 of 2 Reply to this topic...

I was sent a text from my GP asking me to make a appointment to discuss the findings .Since receiving it I have tried for two weeks to get a appointment. All that was needed was the GP to ring me it would have only taken 5 mins. But that makes too much sense. Also my GP practice still has no on line booking after 3 yrs!
