Review titled Very poor practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 13 November 2024
My husband has been messed around with this practice he needed a sick note as he had a very big gash and couldnt work for a few weeks and its taken 3 days and alot of us having to ring up because doctors dont want to spend 2 mins to sign a note. This is a major factor in peoples mental health as he has his employer asking him 4 it . Since this practice got taken over its gone down hill badly.

Thank you for your concerns and feedback. We have investigated this and can confirm the 4 working days timescale we give to patients for a sicknote request to be looked into and signed for has not been breached on any occasion. We apologise for the inconvenience and distress this may have caused if the timescale was not explained to you on putting in your request. We will ensure all reception staff are aware to pass on the correct timescale information to patients in the future.

Review titled Shocking Treatment
Rated 1 star out of 5

The NHS keep stating that A&E is busy and it’s because practices like this refuse to see their patients! I have been asking for an appt over a week now. I was sent a text that clearly says appt then when we get there says it’s apparently for a meds review and it’s a tel appt. It does not say this on text says appt at the field rd centre nothing about a mess review or the phone shocking when your so poorly and your partner takes the day off work to speak to doctor. The practice manager is rude, cocky and clearly has issues with communication.she states she called me this morning but I have no missed calls how convenient. She told me changing my attitude would result in getting an appt then offered one for a weeks time! So now we await a call from emergency out of hours as desperate to be seen, headaches, dizziness, blurred vision and blood shot eyes and no balance! The doctor even specified he needed to see me again within in 4 weeks. The pharmacy just called and they also clearly agree that I need to see a doctor! The practice manager who thinks she’s a doctor! Wow! Let’s hope she’s never feeling poorly and needs to be seen by a medical professional! Private health is clearly the way forward it’s a joke shocking service Stainforth !!!!

Asked at reception to be booked in for a blood and urine test and was told to go to the hospital for the tests as the surgery had no nurses at all

Review titled Change of Policy required
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Graham Snape - Posted on 24 August 2023
Having to attend the surgery more often nowadays, I have found the current policy that is in place for booking appointments absolutely ridiculous. Eg: stood and waited for doors to open, only me in the surgery, unable to make appointment by attending the surgery at this time, but can call. So I called and called and called. Complaining about no one picking up calls reception say we are very busy just keep trying. 15 calls later managed to get through. My point here is that there are enough people in the back taking calls, but policy dictates receptionist is unable to book the appointment for a patient actually stood in front of them?? and back room staff unwilling to come out and book. Patients are having to take time off work to attend the surgery trying to get appointments because when they eventually manage to get through all appointments are gone. This surgery has lost excellent doctors in the past and are running on a shoe string. doctors are calling in sick and more often than not you see a junior doctor or locum. I can tell you categorically that prisoners get better service than patients do. Not acceptable people. Change your policies and actually listen to what patients are saying.

Yes , it can be time consuming to make contact by phone but that just reflects how very busy this surgery is and how many people they are taking care of . Once again ( as I have found before ) , on making contact I recieved an appt same day and had a reassuring consultation with DR Thank you .

Review titled Gp receptionist... not a Dr.
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 28 January 2023
I finally got through to the receptionist and explained why I was calling. The Gp receptionist refused me an appointment due to it being a 'dental issue'. I mentioned that I had the same symptoms before and it was an ear infection, that the Dr previously diagnosed me with this and that I thought I'd need some antibiotics. The receptionist condescendingly told me that it was a 'dental issue' once more. I became very frustrated as I was in a lot of pain, wasn't being listened to and I've grown up with ear infections so know when I have one! I am a very anxious person and struggle to make phone calls, this interaction increased my anxiety to the point I talked myself out of contacting the same day health clinic afterwards for support. Today I rang the clinic as I was still in pain and I was referred to urgent care. The Dr was great and treated my ear infection with a prescription of antibiotics. It would be great if the GP receptionist didn't make it such a difficult task to get an appointment and would leave the diagnosis of patients to the Drs and Nurses. I understand they are trying to do their jobs by signposting to the correct services but listen to the patient first. I took a spot in urgent care that could've been used for a more serious matter. This all could've been sorted yesterday if only the receptionist actually listened to what I was trying to say. It has made me feel extremely anxious about my next call to the surgery and it also made me feel I was wasting their time about my health.
