  3. Review titled Absolutely disgusting practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have just been on the telephone for over 40 minutes trying to book an annual health check that the NHS encourage if you go on to their website but apparently Fitzalan Medical Centre know nothing about this. I am 61, never go to the doctors but just wanted to take up the offer which is clearly outlined on the NHS website. I am so angry and stressed, not a good start to the day.

I am sorry to read your review from January this year. I also rather confused as to why you would not be given an NHS Healthcheck as this is a service we offer. I do add that the appointments are offered on a limited basis based on demand and availability. If you would still wish to have a check or speak to someone our reception manager would be pleased to help. Beverley Wallis - Managing Partner.

  4. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by JOHN DAVIES - Posted on 27 January 2023

I recently had an operation for Carpal Tunnel syndrome. The hospital had given little advice on post-operative care and that which I did obtain was only after telephoning. I was worried that stitches, which were supposed to have dissolved after 10-11 days, could still be seen, which meant that I could not shower nor wash my hair as the wound had to be kept dry. My wife already had an appointment booked for 2.00pm so I rang the surgery to ask if I could be fitted in at the same time to see a doctor or nurse; the receptionist could not have been more helpful and arranged the appointment with my wife's diabetes nurse. Said nurse was most pleasant and dealt with the remaining stitches and gave advice as to further care. All in all a very satisfactory outcome for both my wife and me. This excellent standard of care is what we have always experienced with Fitzalan Health Centre.

  5. Review titled Not good

Rated 1 star out of 5

After being with this surgery and the predecessor all my life to be told I must go somewhere else because I’ve moved a few miles and suffering mental health issues I rang them and explained to the receptionist that I wanted to speak to the doctor but she wouldn’t let me just kept repeating “ you have to go somewhere else over and over “ no thoughts or concerns for someone’s mental health situation or what they may do trying to see a doctor at anytime is like the krypton factor the place is always empty but it’s a four week wait to see a doctor that’s if you can get past the receptionists terrible service not user friendly

  6. Review titled Prescription madness

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Matthew England - Posted on 08 August 2022

Right I’m trying to get my prescription for the last month sorted for my Nebido injection after my last one strangely didn’t get through and is still on waiting for prescription from my LoydsDirect app. It’s ridiculous how this is my second time doing it as the other one got cancelled for being so long. I went in to explain my situation and got told it was on it way only to realise when I got back home they were probably talking about my Epilim 500 medication and not my Nebido. The frustrating thing is in front of me a woman was in a similar situation as me with their medication. It’s just frustrating I need it for next month but I can tell it will get to the moment where it will be a matter of life and death as this injection is really important that I take every 3 months. What’s going on Fitzalan I was getting all my medications/Nebido injection fine since June/July time.

  7. Review titled Disappointing

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Marron - Posted on 18 July 2022

On Saturday following a111 call I was advised to to take my wife to St Richards hospital and arrived at 10 45pm, left at 5am,On reaching home we saw she still had a canula still in her arm,it being Sunday she waited till Monday 18th July and she rang the reception to get it removed After waiting 45 minutes she got through and asked if someone could remove it she was told to go back to St Richards hospital,we are both in our late eighties and the temperature was expected to extremely hot,I drove her to the hospital and they could not believe the fitzallan surgery had not removed it,a lovely nurse took it ,out and it took all of 5 minutes,I would ask Fitzallan staff what happened to common sense and compassion ,we both felt quite sick on getting home Thank you very much
