Review titled Great practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Zoe - Posted on 11 January 2024
It's no secret that the NHS is under immense pressure at the moment and yet so how this practice has improved dramatically over the last few years and found ways to navigate the challenges to ensure we can see doctors in an emergency (either there or at an alternative local practice) and are cared for with a personal touch on longer term issues. The more recently established telephone system for emergency care has been incredibly helpful, you no longer sit in a doctor's waiting room for over an hour with other ill people. The call back system is incredibly practical. The reception staff are immensely kind, calm under pressure and always aim to find a solution. I am always astounded that one of the staff actually remembers my name (I'm not in often enough to warrant it!). The care and attention given by the doctors has been extraordinary. I am aware that this is not a forum to share names so all I can say is that two in particular have been absolute godsends in one of my toughest years to date. In my experience, this practice and all of the wonderful team clearly go above and beyond and do it with humanity that some years ago (with an entirely different team) was lacking. I highly recommend this practice.

Review titled Very poor service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 30 June 2023
I have been a patient of Fitzrovia Medical Centre for many years as it provided a very good service. The last 3 years standards have dropped to rock bottom. It is impossible to get an appointment as they are released on certain days and times and if you are lucky you might get one. I am a pensioner and on occasions have gone to A&E and when desperate I have seen private doctors. I understand from reception that doctors are sick and on holidays. This is always the reason why appointments are unavailable. Instead they are suggesting another practice that have appointments on tap. When I looked into this practice, they have a 1 star rating. These are patient comments about this practice 'avoid' 'awful practice' 'very distressing experience' and many more. I am assuming that Fitzrovia Medical centre is about to close and I am now looking to register with another practice.

Review titled Empathetic and responsive telephone consultations
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was experiencing an acute problem causing me pain and discomfort. I was prescribed appropriate medication and advised on prophylactic exercises. The GPs really listened and helped me manage the situation. Thank you.
