    I take several medications daily for several chronic conditions. One particular medication has been nearly impossible to obtain due to national shortage, even the big online pharmacies are struggling to get them. I had only managed to obtain one month's supply out of the past five months. My online pharmacy informed me yet again that the manufacturer was unable to supply them so I contacted Highlands for an alternative medication. I am grateful that someone there went the extra mile and took the time to contact pharmacies in the area and track down a months supply of my normal meds and within a couple of days I was able to collect the meds. Thank you Highlands for going out of your way to find these vital meds.

    5 times I have requested someone from this practice to call me because my medication needs reviewing. Two online requests, twice I physically visited the surgery and asked the receptionists to request a review, I have had to ring up again this morning to request someone to call me. It never used to be this way, Covid gave these GP surgeries a great opportunity to downgrade their services even further. Surgeries have been slowly getting worse ever since the labour government (1997) turned them into businesses.

    I tried to book an appointment through the online system and I couldn't. Then I called the GP waiting on the line for 30min only just for the reception to refuse taking my request and telling me to retry the online form?????? And if I can not use it the I have to call them wait again on the queue????? That it is not good especially when someone is in poor health to have to go through all short of hoops and loops. This review is hoping the Flitwick GP to review their processes asap!

Our GPs and admin staff managed 209 medical and administrative requests today (24 June 2024) from patients. Many of these requests have been completed on behalf of patients who find it difficult to complete the online triage request form.     At approx 10am I filled in a triage report. 15 mins later I received a text referring me to the eye clinic whom I rang. I was referred to a ophthalmologist who prescribed eye drops which I collected from the pharmacy within Flitwick surgery. All in 3 hours!!! Amazing

    I had a short phone call with a practice nurse who was very eager to get off of the phone even though I was asking relevant questions regarding my pill review. I felt very dismissed and felt I was not listened too. This is very upsetting as pill reviews are only offered yearly and the questions I wanted to ask and the support and guidance I wanted was not provided. When asking questions they were not answered and dismissed straight away. This is not working under the NMC code of conduct of prioritising people or effective practice!

    Filled a online triage request at 08.20. By 08.40 the duty doctor had assessed that a face to face appointment with a GP was required and had been booked. 08.45 reception calls to enquire if the appointment time was OK. 10.00 had been seen by the GP and was leaving the surgery. What a wonderful service. 5 stars to Flitwick Surgery.

    New system now in place. I filled in an online form, had a reply within 30 mins advising me to contact eye clinic with details and then advice received by end of the day after speaking to optometrist . Easy system and didn’t have to wait on the phone for ages.

    Extremely pleased with the new appointment system implemented on 26th January!! I went to the pharmacy about my condition and was advised to see my GP, so on 31/01/23 in the afternoon, just after 1pm; I filled out a form online about my problem and submitted a photo to the surgery. Within less than half an hour, I received a text confirming that I needed a face to face appointment and that one had been made for me the very same afternoon at 4.25pm! I was seen by lovely GP, given a prescription sent to Highlands pharmacy; next door. All done and dusted in a matter of hours. I was very grateful to have been dealt with so quickly and efficiently, just felt I had to take the time and write a review for a place which has received very negative comments and feedback from patients.

  10. Review titled How many blood test results do they need?

    I had some blood tests done for the standard checks. The 1st set came back with statins apparently boarder line. I was asked to repeat the blood test. I did so and again was advised that some results were "boarder line". I was asked to repeat the test again for the 3rd time. I did so and called today, only to be told I have to repeat the test (4th time) as some results are "boarder line" I give up. How many sets of results do they need to make a decision? This entire blood sucking exercise is stuck in a never ending loop. I guarantee that the 4th set of results will come back and I will again be asked to repeat the blood test. Unbelievable.
