  1. Review titled Consistently excellent practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 June 2024

I had a health problem overnight and contacted the practice through Anima. I received an immediate confirmation of receipt and in under 3 hours an electronic response to say a doctor would call me by the end of the day. I got a call in early afternoon and following a discussion an appointment with the same doctor in late afternoon. He undertook a procedure to resolve my problem and gave me a prescription which was quickly dealt with by the dispensary. I have had a couple of other experiences following use of Anima in the last 2 years, again excellent.

  3. Review titled Supportive practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lucy Smith - Posted on 13 June 2024

I wanted my son checked over for a persistent cough and temperature. The doctor phoned and after an initial chat asked to see him. We were seen very quickly and then supported by Salisbury hospital off the back of the GPs recommendation and fast action

  5. Review titled Great service from a lovely GP

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 June 2024

Sent e-consult about pregnancy-related rib pain, had call back next morning and was invited in for a check later that day. Everyone involved efficient and friendly and the GP was lovely and very reassuring. Thank you very much!

  6. Review titled Always attentive to your condition

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jacqueline Harrington - Posted on 28 May 2024

Although today, there was no definitive answer to the issue, as it was difficult to diagnose, the doctor felt that it was an insect bite, possibly tick, so prescribed antibiotics also antihistamines for the incredible itching, he asked that I phone on Friday if I’m not getting better, so in my opinion he did his best and was polite

  7. Review titled Hard to access for the unwell

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 May 2024

I don’t use the GP service much. Only after trying everything else when feeling unwell. It seems impenetrable. NHS website, anima, systemonline, airmid - which one?Passwords. Trying to navigate unfamiliar websites. All while feeing really unwell. It’s a total nightmare and getting to a place where you can ask to see a doctor is impossible. I ended up having to lie and claim I had no Internet access in order to speak to the receptionist because I couldn’t find any other way of seeing a medic. I’m quite shocked that suffering from shortness of breath, feeling ill, coughing, not being able to take my asthma inhalers due to a bad reaction and an existing problem with uneven heart beat, that no-one asked me in to listen to my lungs or heart. You can’t do this over the phone. I had to almost beg to see someone. I have been repeatedly told online, by the chemist, by medical family members, while having a medical issue - ask your GP. Sadly this isn’t possible at Fordingbridge surgery. The last time I had a problem I ended up at A&E, which is ridiculous when in theory I have a GP to consult. I realise that Fordingbridge has a much larger population than it used to. Yet the surgery has only one receptionist and the waiting room is often totally empty when I come in to collect my prescription during normal surgery hours. To all intents and purposes it seems that the surgery really doesn’t want to see ill people. Maybe you need more doctors, more receptionists or even some competition with a new practice to help deal with the expanding population. I’m going into the later years of my life feeling really frightened that the medical service which used to be accessible and personal is no longer available. When illness or other medical issue strikes I have no idea how to access help. It’s like stumbling into a nightmare maze of dead ends. “Ask your GP”. “Before taking this medication consult your GP if you have these pre existing conditions”. How?

    Review titled Fordingbridge Surgery

Dear Patient, Thank you for taking the time to review our service. We are sorry you have not been satisfied with your experience. Our surgery endeavours to offer a variety of appointments in a timely manner for all our patients. Anima has been designed for patients to contact the surgery to communicate with a triage team of senior GPs who are able to signpost patients to the most appropriate care in a timely manner, including urgent on the day assessment. All our appointment requests are triaged, and by answering all the Anima questions the clinician has sufficient information to determine the most appropriate appointment or service for your needs. Urgent on the day requests are also available by phoning the surgery. For medication queries, we also have a team of Pharmacists who can assist with this. With regards to our population, this has not changed. What has changed, however, is the demand we are facing for appointments. Our team of receptionists cover all areas of the building, including both reception areas and the telephones. We do ask that those patients who can and are able to use Anima online consultation service do so, as this frees up the telephones for those whose problem is urgent and those who are unable to use online consultations. The number of patients in our waiting room does not necessarily correlate with the every day workload of the practice. Many patients choose to have telephone or video consultations, and staff may also be engaged in tasks relating to patient care which may not be patient facing. There is a difference between online access and online consultations – please see our newsletter, page 6 for more information. https://www.fordingbridgegps.co.uk/docs/fordingbridgegps.co.uk/Final%20Spring%20Newsletter%202024.pdf Please do try our online services while you are feeling well so that when you are not, the services we offer are familiar. We are always happy to assist in helping you with setting up your passwords and navigating these systems. We would like the opportunity to investigate your comments further and directly address your concerns, and we invite you to email the practice at fordingbridgesurgery@nhs.net Kind regards, Management Team

  8. Review titled Is this Service level the norm?

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 June 2024

I would just like to share my experience of using the on-line system with respect to timings etc? Twice I have used the online system as requested and both times I received a reply that took the 2 full working days...i.e. 8am Day 1 sent the request, heard back 6pm day 2. Both times it was deemed I needed to see a Doctor and both times I was then given an appointment 3.5 weeks away...so nearly a month in total. Is this the new normal? The reason I ask is because if you read the local social media pages, many people are stating that they are still telephoning the surgery and then getting an appointment 1-3 days away and that this is the best way to circumvent the system. If that is the case it is hardly fair on those of us that are doing as we are asked, i.e. using online system as a first option. I think I will take to using the telephone again and pushing the button that says "no internet access" I'm sure this is not the outcome you would like. It will be interesting to see if this review makes it to the Surgery's Facebook page like the positive reviews do.

  9. Review titled Amazing support

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by A newbury - Posted on 01 May 2024

To put it mildly I am having a bit of a crisis, to start with the receptionist I spoke to was really lovely and helpful and managed to calm me down enough to be able to speak properly. Shortly after a nurse practitioner called me and said I could come in straight away for a chat. I personally think that this is amazing and these two ladies were just what I needed at that point in time I'm not sure I would have got through the day otherwise. Also had a follow up call from surgery about a week later to see how I was doing, by yet another lovely lady. I'm two weeks on from this and still struggling, but I know I have support there if I need it at anytime, this makes such a difference. I have never had an issue with this surgery in the 3 1/2 years I have been with them. They go above and beyond to be helpful
