Every time myself and my wife have contacted the practise. We have been treated with kindness and respect. By all the staff and doctors /nurses..We felt that they were there for us . Even though they are pushed to the limit . If you give respect you get it back thankyou

I don't drive so have to phone up and beg for a repeat prescription but now everyone is doing this so you have to wait for an hr on the phone ... When they do pick up they are so rude My husbands prescription took 5 days to get to the chemist he ran out he is on antidepressants this service is appalling I have reported this to my mp What happened to the days of seeing your family doctor 😕

  3. Review titled Broken!

Rated 1 star out of 5

There is no longer the ability to have a phone consult – everything is being directed to the Urgent Care Centre, so this is discriminatory to those with mobility issues or who don’t/can’t drive plus what could take 5 mins over the phone to sort out then takes about 20 mins by car each way and often 20 mins waiting. Busses are not always an option and even if they were, I assume it would be a mare for anyone feeling poorly to have to get to the clinic this way. Taxis are expensive. We are in Marchwood and should be able to access GP and Nurse services in Marchwood. This is what was originally promised when Forest side took over the practice – Then we were directed further afield to Dibden and now it’s even further away in Hythe! Yet we have a perfectly functional GP building in Marchwood that should be functioning effectively for Marchwood residents! Forestside took on the Marchwood GP practice and therefor have a duty of Care to Marchwood residents. I don’t understand why they can’t have one nurse practitioner fielding calls daily so those that don’t need to attend the urgent care clinic can be dealt with easily and effectively over the phone. Now my experience of the Urgent Care centre is one of initially sitting in a waiting room where germs and illness can easily be spread as it’s a convey belt system of so much foot traffic and no space to be away from other people. The people working at the urgent care are also not concerned or interested in any other health issues that could be linked, they only want to deal with the one item that you have been sent there for, and this is a concern as linked conditions and or underlying causes will be going missed – their response is, go back and see your GP. So this is a Broken system where nothing is joined up and you are really only a number and definitely not a person. It’s fine if you need antibiotics or penicillin for a simple infection but everything is being thrown to the urgent care centre – it’s like sticking a band-aid on a gaping wound that needs stitches! If a patient would like a telephone consult, it should be available with a nurse practitioner at the surgery or a duty doctor. If they need medical help it should be available within a reasonable distance and not have to travel over 5 miles to access it. Lastly, they should be dealt with as an individual person at all times and not just a number in a queue

  4. Review titled Horrendous Admin Staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Simon - Posted on 05 May 2023

I have yet to have the pleasure of meeting a doctor but the admin staff here are rude, obnoxious and unbelievably unhelpful. After moving to the area and registering in 2020 my first interaction was receiving a text message telling me to call the practice in order to book a Health MOT Check-Up. The response to my call? I don't know why you're calling us, we don't do those! Excuse me, you text me??!!?? Then in November 2022 my father suffered heart problems and eventually required a valve replacement surgery. His surgeon advised him that all of his children should be tested as it may be a hereditary condition. When I informed the surgery of this they flat out refused to do any testing at all. Meanwhile my two siblings, who are registered elsewhere, were offered the relevant blood tests immediately by their GPs. Absolutely disgusting service and all delivered with a condescending sneer from the reception staff.

  5. Review titled Very caring and professional practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My experience with Forestside Medical Practice has been a very happy and calming experience realising especially with the current problems with the NHS that I have got expert support locally for all my medical needs.

  6. Review titled Unhelpful

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Robert Brown - Posted on 08 December 2022

Tried to get a phone call back from a doctor to discuss a reaction about a new tablet i was given. But because i didnt want to discuss the reaction as it was quite personal, i was met with "you can go online and register it or i can book you an appointment for 2 weeks time". I am now going to go to A&E and waste valuable NHS time and money instead of a Doctor phoning me to discuss it. I believed that because it was personal i didnt have to discuss it with a receptionist? Please correct me if im wrong.
