I rang the pharmacy as I was running out of my regular prescription, concerned I’d not had a notice for collecting the drugs, only to be told that the Frome Medical Practice had changed the system so I had to go through them, but it turns out they to tell me!

We are sorry to hear this. We did do a campaign to let people know about this. We appreciate even with the best efforts this will not reach everyone. Please do check our website or social media as we always publicise changes that may impact on patients in advance. The gentleman on reception this evening was extremely kind and helpful regarding a prescription error and resolved the issue immediately!

Frome Medical Practice is fine - when you get an appointment and see a member of staff... however... use option 4 about repeat prescriptions. In regards to repeat prescription service seem to need more staff to help. Recently put in using a nominated pharmacy, 10 days before required. Hadn't been approved 6 days later - because misplaced in a backlog with others. Being approved after phoning. This isn't the first time this has happened. Should never happen when patients require continuous repeat prescriptions for some medication. Good job I didn't hang up after listening to the recorded message but stayed on the line to speak to a staff member.

After being unable to get an appointment with a GP at the Frome Medical Practice for 11 weeks since an injury to my foot because of problems with the online appointments system - I finally got one, only to have it cancelled today. As the pain from the injury was becoming worse, I called for an appointment and managed to get one on the same day. During the appointment, the GP seemed not too concerned about my foot injury and made no comment on it or asked any questions about it. Additionally, after discovering that I had no follow-up to a year's worth of cancer treatment- there was no reaction from the GP at all. However, I found that I had ticked enough boxes for a Dexascan and I hope I get this before complications set in. This practice does very little to make patients feel welcome or cared for and you have to fight to get adequate healthcare.

Review titled On-line form slow and ineffective - bring back verbal communication

I injured my foot and ankle. Following advice from 111 I attended the Frome Minor Injuries unit. After waiting hours, my foot was x-rayed and showed some anomalies but I was reassured it was just soft tissue damage. I was not that happy with the explanation but given the waiting time, etc. decided to give up. Anyway, a couple of weeks later I filled in the dreaded on-line form to book an appointment with my GP because the foot still hurt. After several weeks, I got an appointment with a physiotherapist. Unfortunately, I did it again - I gave up - resolved to the fact this is the best I was going to get - I was just not important enough to see a GP. Anyway, to cut a long story short - the x-ray seemed to reveal more details than I was given. I discovered that I may have tendon/ligament damage and osteoporosis and was asked to book a dexascan with a GP. I tried filling in the on-line form - impossible. Called the surgery and was told they had requested the scan online and I had to wait to be contacted. I now have a phone appointment with an actual GP but I have to wait over a week. So now it has been over 10 weeks since my injury and I still haven't seen a GP. My feeling is the online form adopted by the surgery is completely ineffective because it only takes a few minutes to describe something verbally over the phone and gives a more accurate picture.

While I was at the surgery for an appointment I collapsed and my oxygen levels were very low. The HCA stayed with me and was very kind and caring. The GP put me on oxygen and phoned for an ambulance to take me to hospital. I would like to thank them them for their speedy action and care.

I noticed that i was able to book an appointment by phone, as stated on the website. When i rang the appointment line , to which was a waiting time, finally spoke to the staff member, then to be informed to make the appointment online. My point is that why state you can make an appointment by phone, to be told you cant and need to make an appointment online....i left confused and disappointed with the practices policies.

We are sorry to hear of your confusion and disappointment. All GP appointments can be booked online or over the phone. We encourage those who can use online to do so, as this frees up time for our team to do complete our triage forms over the phone to enable an appointment to be booked for you. We do this to ensure an equitable service to all patients and ensure we can prioritise appointments appropriately. You can of course book other appointments directly over the phone. It is difficult from this review to understand exactly what happened as you have left this anonymously and do not state what type of appointment you were asking for. We would recommend contacting the practice directly for these type of issues and a member of team would be happy to speak to you directly to resolve any confusion. Please also be aware when calling there is a call back function to help prevent waiting.

I have been seeing the same Dr for a chronic condition for 2 years. He is professional, really listens and feel he takes my condition seriously. He always follows up any questions I have, by getting back to me promptly. Thank you, feel very fortunate to have him as a GP. Please pass on my thanks.

After over 15 years at the practice I encountered a problem that was dealt with in a very practical and pleasant way. There is clearly a desire to support patients and also staff, which has renewed my confidence. A practice needs to work together and with patients when blips occur. This was evidence of a strong team that are patient focused. Thank you.

Received voice mail at 13:22, phoned back 3 minutes later. No 1 in the queue, listen to whole message, then told no one to take my call. No call back in the 90 minutes before lines shut. Phoned another 9 times before three pm with same result. Not a good service, this was not the main number but 01373 468375
