  1. Review titled Great practice in emergency

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 August 2024

On the 9nth August I felt as if I was about to die. I tried a herbal supplement to help with sleep. It lead to adverse reactions which were mild. Dr provided me with consultation on the day I had contacted the Surgery after stressing I feel like I am about to lose my breath. Within hours I was seen, and within an hour after that I took my first dose of my gastric-resistant capsule which gave me immediate relief. I thought it was something life-threatening, turns out it was just gas. I really appreciated Dr for handling my consultation that day and listening to my suggestions to what I had imagined it could be within my head, when it was just gas. Amazing surgery, my GP has done an amazing job.

  3. Review titled 1 star experience

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I have been attempting to secure an appointment for the past two months without success. Despite numerous calls to the Gants Hill GP reception office, I have experienced excessively long wait times, often up to an hour, without being able to speak to a staff member to arrange an appointment. As a patient, I rely on timely access to medical care, and the current situation has left me feeling neglected and frustrated.

  4. Review titled Very poor sevice

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Called to to doctor about ordering more anti biotic urgently. Was tod by reception he would cal the next Tuesday ( this was on the Friday) I got a call on the Tuesday not by the Doctor but by their Pharmacist. I explained the Doctor was supposed to call about anti biotics. She said She was told to contact me, and needed to phone to talk to A Doctor. I asked for her to either put me through or to ask for to contact me. She said I had to do it as she could or would not do it. I gave up after trying to get through to medical centre. In desperation I called 111 and got a doctor to phone me and he sorted it out right away. I got the medication the next after he sent prescription to my local chemist.

Terrible medical centre. In reception workers saying on the phone that they will call back later to see doctor for my 11months old son. They never called back.

  6. Review titled Very supportive and responsive

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 April 2023

Both receptionists and doctors have been very responsive and supportive to both myself and my very elderly mother over the last few years in relation to a number of medical challenges we have both faced. At a time when the surgery must be stretched to the limits, as everyone is in the NHS, we have always been able to access the doctors. The doctors have given us time to discuss issues and arranged immediate face to face consultations when needed. On two separate occasions the doctors made unsolicited follow-up phone calls to check all was ok. My husband, who is at another local practice, is going to transfer to Gants Hill as the service is so much better. My only suggestion is that phone answering can be a bit hit and miss.

  7. Review titled Words Fail me!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Brian - Posted on 19 January 2023

I grew up in a time when the Doctors Surgery was there to help, that is not the case here. They have wonderful, caring GP's but all this goes to waste due to the way the surgery is run. I had been suffering for over a month with the coughing virus that was going around, as an asthmatic this made it a problem breathing. I had been given two courses of ant-biotics and told to call the GP if the problem had not cleared, which it did not, I tried to book an appointment without success. I was advised to call the Hub, then told to call 111 both without success. I had no medication or an inhaler over the Xmas period, after Xmas I managed to speak to a GP who gave me a further course of anti-biotics and steroids and sent me for a chest x-ray and wanted a face to face appointment when she has the test results. After two attempts calling the surgery, first one I gave up after 45 mins, the second I held on for 61 mins when the call was answered. I asked the receptionist if the results were in and if they were the GP had asked to see me face to face. To my amazement she replied that that they had the results and I do not need to see a GP. I asked what were her medical qualifications to make that statement, she did not reply. I asked what day the GP saw patients face to face, her answer was to call back 8am next morning. I asked who I was talking to, not once but twice and she ended the call. In my opinion the way this surgery is run is not fit for purpose, sad as the GPs are very good.

  8. Review titled Horrible practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 December 2022

I was keep trying to book appointment for my kid all day long and finally she answered at 4pm. I been told that is too late to book appointment but I was calling all day long and no answer and I need to call next day again from 8am. Because she can't book appointment for my kid now for next day. I call 8am next day o answer until 9.15am. And I was surprised that they pick up phone and what I heard no appointment today or tomorrow only in week time. Very rude staff.

  9. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I think this is a great GP practice. You can get a telephone appt via the app for the same day very easily. They answer your calls and even have an email address that they reply to quite quickly. This GP surgery is very helpful - the admin, reception and GP's are always very polite and helpful and really do go above and beyond to help the patients. I highly recommend this practice.

  10. Review titled The worst GP practice around - should be struck off

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Manny - Posted on 25 October 2022

Gants Hill Medical Centre is more a function to annoy and dismiss their patients than it is a GP. I had to wait 3 weeks to get an appointment that was just a telephone appointment. The reception routinely keep you on hold for an hour minimum just tell you that appointments are released online - which they are not! it is a deeply unhelpful place, i was suffering from chronic back pain and all they kept prescribing me was naxprofen. not even trying to figure out what was causing the pain. the customer service is at an all time low, i wouldn't wish my worse enemy go to that place.
