  2. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Wendy Kerwick - Posted on 03 July 2024

I had an appointment for a steroid injection and my gp referred me to Lisa for a chat about a new medication he was recommending. Lisa was so good at explaining the benefits of the medication and the side effects, how to administer it and even allowed me to have a practice with the injection pen. She ensured I was able to administer it myself and explained in detail what would happen going forward. Considering I didn’t have a pre arranged appointment with her she happily gave me 15 minutes of her time. Thank you Lisa

  3. Review titled Lack of availability and information

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Kay - Posted on 12 June 2024

I'm fairly new to surgery and have only managed to see a doctor once. Called in to make appt for physio so as not to take up Dr's time to be told none until July. Only offered one date as I'm on holiday I couldn't make it. No further appt or advice was given. So I thought I'd make an appt to see Dr to be told there are none available for 2 weeks hence. No further advice given. I asked how I could see a Dr to be told try at 8am tomorrow morning. I did fill in an online referral previously when I had seriously concerning blood sugar readings. I was sent fgor bloods. One was concerning so was sent for retest. No follow up been received to explore cause. No one been in touch. Is there not a duty of care to adhere to? I also had previous treatment in Hull that I was informed required regular screening. No appts have been forthcoming from this practice. I don't visit a GP unless strictly necessary however I am unsure how I would even get to see a doctor if I was ill. My daughter struggled and she was undergoing chemo!

As a healthcare organisation we are very aware that visiting can, at times, be stressful and concerning for patients. Delays in obtaining appointments and delays sometimes due to unforeseen emergency appointments, can also add to these concerns. We always strive to meet patient expectation and deliver the highest standards of healthcare. For most of our patients we achieve this. We want to help patients access the practice as easily as possible and below is a list of alternative ways to access services at West Leeds Family Practice and are available via the practice website www.westleedsfamilypractice.co.uk • 1 / REGISTER FOR ONLINE SERVICES • book, check or cancel appointments with a GP, nurse, or other healthcare professional • order repeat prescriptions • see parts of your health record, including information about medicines, vaccinations, and test results • see communications between your GP surgery and other services, such as hospitals 2 / REGISTER FOR NHS APP NHS App allows you to access lots of different health and care websites and apps with just one set of login details. You can securely access many digital health and care services with one email address and password. You will need: • an email address (with more than 6 characters) • a mobile phone number 3 / PATCHS Accessing PATCHS: you can access PATCHS by clicking on the banner on your GP website or using the NHS App (if your GP practice have enabled access). Registering for PATCHS: you can access PATCHS by using the NHS App or NHS Login (if you have an account) or by registering for a PATCHS account. It is also possible to access PATCHS with a 'Guest Account' so you do not need to register, but this will mean that you will need to enter all your personal details every time you contact the GP practice, and you will not have access to view historic requests. Logging in to PATCHS: Once you have registered, you can login by entering your registered email address and password. Submit your request to the GP Practice: Simply choose the appropriate option regarding your request and answer a few simple questions to help your GP understand your problem. Your answers are then sent to your GP who will respond as quickly as possible during their opening hours. Initial responses may be via online message or telephone, and face-to-face or video consultation appointments will be arranged if needed. We appreciate feedback and look to continuously improve our service to our patients to aim for excellence.

  5. Review titled Fantastic GP

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kate - Posted on 19 June 2024

I just want to write to say how fantastic my consultation with one of the GPs was today. He was so empathetic, professional and really listened to me with his whole self (including body language, facing me, good eye contact and not distracted). Even though there is not a quick fix or resolution to my weight issues, he took me seriously with being judgemental. How he has practiced should be shared with other professionals for learning how the positive relationship and interaction with a GP can be so validating and helpful. Thank you very much.

  8. Review titled Reassuring Nurse

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Lauren - Posted on 29 April 2024

I had my routine smear review conducted at Glenlea Surgery by a nurse. The whole procedure from me arriving at the surgery to finishing took no longer than 10 minutes. The nurse was really reassuring and calmed my anxieties and nerves throughout the procedure, and I was sent further information via text afterwards regarding smear tests, breast checks, and HPV which is useful.

  10. Review titled Absulote disgrace

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Purpleelf - Posted on 24 April 2024

It tooks too long to get through at 8am(not enough staff to answer calls, then I was told no appointments left in the morning can't book for afternoon, can only book 2 weeks in advance, need to be seen sooner when you have found a lump, 2 weeks is a disgrace, need to change the way they operate, I would most definitely not recommend this doctors surgery
