the receptionists are always so helpful and friendly. I was very upset when I went in on Thursday and the receptionist was very kind and helpful, promising to resolve my problem and ring me back which she did

I contacted the surgery as one of my diabetes meds was out of stock again. The doctor got back to me to advise a prescription had been sent to the chemist with an alternative & a text explaining what they had done. Followed by a call from the surgery explaining.

Review titled 2 week waiting time for appointments.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Robert Withers - Posted on 16 September 2024
I'm leaving this review again as it looks like the practice have had the Google reviews taken down (due to so many negative reviews) On 3 occasions this year I've had to use a private GP because I have been unable to get an appointment within a couple of days at Gleanlee. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. You have to call at 8am or 12pm to get an on the day appointment - I call minutes before these times and still cannot get an appointment. Therefore the best they can offer is an appointment 2/3 weeks in the future. I'm now moving to a better recommended.

Came for my 12 month routine smear and her student were very lovely, took time to go through all the information that they needed to tell me. Made me feel at ease and the procedure was quick. Made sure to ask how I was finding it all

Review titled Annual Review
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I went to the practice for my annual review, blood pressure, bloods etc. Didn't wait long the clinician who saw me was very good especially with taking blood as there is normally a problem finding a vein, but she got it first time and I hardly felt it, very professional, polite and listened to what I had to say.

Review titled Excellent service
Rated 4 stars out of 5

I had an appointment for a steroid injection and my gp referred me to Lisa for a chat about a new medication he was recommending. Lisa was so good at explaining the benefits of the medication and the side effects, how to administer it and even allowed me to have a practice with the injection pen. She ensured I was able to administer it myself and explained in detail what would happen going forward. Considering I didn’t have a pre arranged appointment with her she happily gave me 15 minutes of her time. Thank you Lisa

Review titled Lack of availability and information
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Kay - Posted on 12 June 2024
I'm fairly new to surgery and have only managed to see a doctor once. Called in to make appt for physio so as not to take up Dr's time to be told none until July. Only offered one date as I'm on holiday I couldn't make it. No further appt or advice was given. So I thought I'd make an appt to see Dr to be told there are none available for 2 weeks hence. No further advice given. I asked how I could see a Dr to be told try at 8am tomorrow morning. I did fill in an online referral previously when I had seriously concerning blood sugar readings. I was sent fgor bloods. One was concerning so was sent for retest. No follow up been received to explore cause. No one been in touch. Is there not a duty of care to adhere to? I also had previous treatment in Hull that I was informed required regular screening. No appts have been forthcoming from this practice. I don't visit a GP unless strictly necessary however I am unsure how I would even get to see a doctor if I was ill. My daughter struggled and she was undergoing chemo!

As a healthcare organisation we are very aware that visiting can, at times, be stressful and concerning for patients. Delays in obtaining appointments and delays sometimes due to unforeseen emergency appointments, can also add to these concerns. We always strive to meet patient expectation and deliver the highest standards of healthcare. For most of our patients we achieve this. We want to help patients access the practice as easily as possible and below is a list of alternative ways to access services at West Leeds Family Practice and are available via the practice website www.westleedsfamilypractice.co.uk • 1 / REGISTER FOR ONLINE SERVICES • book, check or cancel appointments with a GP, nurse, or other healthcare professional • order repeat prescriptions • see parts of your health record, including information about medicines, vaccinations, and test results • see communications between your GP surgery and other services, such as hospitals 2 / REGISTER FOR NHS APP NHS App allows you to access lots of different health and care websites and apps with just one set of login details. You can securely access many digital health and care services with one email address and password. You will need: • an email address (with more than 6 characters) • a mobile phone number 3 / PATCHS Accessing PATCHS: you can access PATCHS by clicking on the banner on your GP website or using the NHS App (if your GP practice have enabled access). Logging in to PATCHS: Once you have registered, you can login by entering your registered email address and password. Submit your request to the GP Practice: Simply choose the appropriate option regarding your request and answer a few simple questions to help your GP understand your problem. Your answers are then sent to your GP who will respond as quickly as possible during their opening hours. Initial responses may be via online message or telephone, and face-to-face or video consultation appointments will be arranged if needed.
