I had a small issue that could have been resolved on the phone in a matter of seconds. Unfortunately the call waiting service advised that I would have to call back later. Later I called, now advised I was caller number 10 in line. So… I decided I’d drive from my place of work (Pontefract) to the Surgery in Stanningley and found that I had my issue dealt with by the receptionist before the phone was answered (position 2 in the queue by then) I really would like to know why it takes so long to move 9 places in a queue. I drove for over 30 minutes (25 miles)… Crazy!!

The appointment system is continually reviewed and adapted to try and provide the best service for patients. However, this does not always meet patient expectation and we constantly strive to improve the systems in place as and when we can. Unfortunately, with increased demand and sometimes reduced staffing levels this can impact waiting times on the telephone for patients during peak times, please accept our apologies for any difficulties you have experienced. We want to help patients access the practice as easily as possible and below are a list of alternative ways to access services at West Leeds Family Practice and are available via the practice website www.westleedsfamilypractice.co.uk 1 / REGISTER FOR ONLINE SERVICES • book, check or cancel appointments with a GP, nurse, or other healthcare professional • order repeat prescriptions • see parts of your health record, including information about medicines, vaccinations, and test results • see communications between your GP surgery and other services, such as hospitals 2 / REGISTER FOR NHS APP NHS App allows you to access lots of different health and care websites and apps with just one set of login details. You can securely access many digital health and care services with one email address and password. You will need: • an email address (with more than 6 characters) • a mobile phone number 3 / PATCHS • Accessing PATCHS: you can access PATCHS by clicking on the banner on your GP website or using the NHS App • Registering for PATCHS: you can access PATCHS by using the NHS App or NHS Login (if you have an account) or by registering for a PATCHS account. It is also possible to access PATCHS with a 'Guest Account' so you do not need to register, but this will mean that you will need to enter all your personal details every time you contact the GP practice, and you will not have access to view historic requests. • Logging in to PATCHS: Once you have registered, you can login by entering your registered email address and password.

Had an appt today. Person I saw was very thorough and understanding. They explained everything to me, had an excellent manner and were very personable and respectful.This practice has fantastic clinicians and I’ve always had a good experience here. Huge thanks to the reception and admin staff who are always very polite and helpful. Always get a friendly, professional service when I ring. There is a general feeling of care from this practice. Thank you.

After being at another doctors and not being able to get appointments I enrolled at Glenlea I have seen the same doctor twice he was a good listener and was really caring something I’d not been used to at my previous practice, because of his lovely manner I am likely to ask for him when I book appointments in the future.

I had an appointment on 21/11/2023 with the practice Diabetic Nurse. The Lady was polite, friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. An absolute credit to the practice.

Continuously leaving voicemails for me to call them, which I do, but find every time at various times of the day as many as ten calls are on hold sometimes with a voice message saying that they are too busy to answer the phone call back later. How come they can call out but can't answer incoming calls? Finally got through and the Receptionist says they have no staff to answer the phone and didn't know why they wanted me. They then called me again and I say I have been trying to call them, the individual tells me its nothing to do with them they are 'just a booking service', I responded 'dont you represent the practice' and say it is impossible to get in touch with them, the individual then tells me 'I am rude' and they will put the phone down to which I reply I don't know why you are calling me but if that's what you want to do fine, which they then do. This morning I receive a letter, first class mail (when all other mail related to 'health' is sent second class) suggesting that I was verbally abusive to a member of staff. Clearly not too busy to send these letters out. Appointments are never available, with call on the day if you want one. Long list of doctors names in reception some of whom are never there. Finally get a call and find out why they want me, it's time for my annual review.... despite this being July and my last one was November last year?? where I met the Doctor to discuss my Diabetes medication concerns at which point they referred me to a practice nurse-led diabetic clinic for an appointment two months after. If they say they record every call maybe they should listen to the one where they suggest that I was rude and see what they think.

Both my wife and I, who visit this surgery fairly regularly, have always found the service provided excellent. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. We do find the opportunity to have a telephone consultation an additional bonus as sometimes this works for both parties just as well. Plus able to have a "face to face", if required. So Many Thanks to you all and our best wishes.

Due to personal circumstances I have been contacting the practice more than usual over past few months. Everyone has been very helpful, receptionists, back office staff, nurses and doctors. Always going above and beyond to support me in very difficult time. I feel well looked after and I am very happy to be the patient of Glenlea Surgery
