Review titled Bad to worse
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 13 June 2023
I've never been able to get through on the phone or see a doctor at Glenlyn. I use Livi because there's no other way of getting to see a doctor, I was diagnosed with high BP and prescribed a pill this didn't agree with me after a 3 month trial it was changed , the new prescribed pill was doing what it's supposed to no side effects.I waited 45 days as advised had a blood test at Glenlyn ( both times I've used this service has been great ) all good , when I wanted a repeat prescription with plenty of notice they messed up and sent the wrong prescription to the pharmacy, when I came back to them in person and explained the situation they tried everything to blame me for not giving them enough time then tried to tell me that it's because I hadn't taken a blood test (wrong again ).The receptionist calls her superior to get advice as I was leaving the Country in the early hours the next day I was told no was was available to sign it off until Mon ( this was 1pm on Friday) .I was told we can print out your pill on our letterhead as proof and I could get them anywhere in the world over the counter or call 111 from anywhere in Europe and I should have no problem getting it .What utter rubbish ,these people have no idea what they are talking about when I mentioned it to my local chemist they just let out a sigh and said every other patient from Glenlyn we deal with has had a problem of one sort or another.

Review titled This surgery needs to close

What is wrong with Glenlyn? You cannot get an appointment as it is always"capacity reached" I've had enough and am forced to change practices if I want to see a doctor. This practice is not fit for purpose and needs to close

Review titled Struggling to get to speak to GP
by Purple1006 - Posted on 17 July 2023
For the past two weeks I have been trying to contact the surgery to ask for an x-ray referral as I can never get an appointment. It is 8.30 am. I tried, again, to ask reception a question, evidently they reached capacity. If there is a way to book a GP appointment on line I have yet to find it. This is appalling. We don't all have time to wait on the phone and the receptionist appears to decide whether I need to see a GP or not without passing my request through for the GP to decide. We are told not to go to A&E unless our problem is urgent. My problem is getting worse. I know my body. I need an x-ray. Looks like I will have to worry the overrun A&E department at Kingston Hospital. Is there no authority overseeing this surgery ? I feel the service just gets worse. I am angry and frustrated. Why is their time more important than mine?

Review titled Impossible to contact
Rated 1 star out of 5

I echo the views given about the lack of a method to contact the surgery and receive some form of medical attention. I submitted the appropriate email on their website, waited 2 to 3 weeks without anything other than a holding response. I now find that I can no longer contact them as their message:- "We have reached clinical capacity on our website for today" has appeared for days on end, irrespective of the times I have attempted to reach them. Phoning them gives 5 options, none of which provide a route to a consultation. I have always had really good treatment from the surgery when I have managed to get an appointment. I note that they are still accepting new patients, which seems perverse given their inability to cope with the patient load that they already have.

Review titled Poor contactability
Rated 1 star out of 5

Most of the doctors are good. Unfortunately you 'see' a different one every time, many of whom are locums so no continuity. Main issue is getting hold of the surgery or trying to make appointments. Vast majority are telephone appointments where you have to wait for half the day to be called. There is usually at least a two week wait for one of these. Phone lines are ridiculously busy, with 20+ people in the queue ahead of you. The main method of communication is via the website messaging system, which periodically closes when it reaches 'Clinical capacity' for the day so you can't even send a message and you are advised to use other services such as 111. It is very frustrating, even if you are technologically competent. I dread to think about how older people cope. And the practice is apparently accepting new patients when it can't deal with the ones it already has. Unbelievable.

Review titled Utterly appalling third world surgery.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by CHRISTOPHER Perkins - Posted on 23 June 2023
My latest attempt to seek assistance from a doctor has taken exactly a month to get a response. Every day this week any attempt to get a response proving futile, repeatedly being told, 'We are unable to deal with any issues, go to A&E, ring 111 or go to a walk in somewhere'and this is at 8am in the morning. Today I received a phone call to apologise for the months wait. After 3 years of decline into this pitiful example of a surgery I have had enough and moved to another surgery. Glenlyn is a joke.

Review titled Horrible practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Omar - Posted on 11 June 2023
I’ve been suffering with gout for weeks now and contacted the practice back in may and still waiting for them to get back to me, their phones are impossible to get hold of and their online booking is often not working due to reaching capacity, my health is just getting worse and this practice is horrible and apparently they are still accepting new patients!

Review titled I get never get an appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by JANE DENISE HENDY - Posted on 04 April 2023
The GP stopped my medication but I just cannot get another appointment to discuss this. The website is continuously down due to technical issues, the phone I can never get through. Even when I do - as today - I'm told no appointments until next week - and next week I'm told exactly the same thing. Honestly, I'm so tired of trying - it's impossible - and making me think I have to find a private GP if I ever want to see a doctor again. How they can have no website - no good phone access - and no email is amazing - in fact there is absolutely no way to make contact at all. How is this allowed? I'm a Professor who has spend half lifetime studying the NHS (and training it's staff) - my goodness the worst of all predictions for this service have come true. Nothing to clap for - nothing to be proud. So very very sad.

Review titled Website Not Fit for Purpose

Cannot order a new prescription. The Doctors are anonymous with no photos on the website. All rather furtive.

Review titled E.mail system
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 18 March 2023
I don't know who's responsible for handling patient enquiries submitted via e.mail, but too often the response is to delay the practice's response by suggesting the patient waits for weeks before a doctor is involved; or an e.mail is replied to with a request to wait for an imminent response but then apparently not acted upon further, and there's sometimes a subliminal bad attitude in the replies as if someone is being "bothered" by patient enquires and resents them in some odd way. It's not always like this, and some of the e.mails are well handled, but it's happened to me on more than one occasion in the last few months, and appears to be getting a bit worse recently. As none of the replies are ever signed it's hard to say who or what is the cause of the problem, but it gives a poor impression of this Practice.
