Review titled Great doctor
Rated 3 stars out of 5

The doctor who saw my son was absolutely lovely, she took her time, made eye contact and actually checked my son thoroughly. I was very satisfied as she seemed to care which was nice for a change.

Review titled The Dr that I saw today
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Rhiannon - Posted on 16 April 2024
I saw a lovely Dr today for myself and last week for my daughter and she is lovely. She is a breath of fresh air to the surgery that, in my opinion, has gone downhill rapidly for quite some time now. They need more like her. She cares about what you say and listens intently and does not fob you off. She seems knowledgeable and if she didn’t know or was unsure on something she went and asked another doctor. Nothing felt too big for her today and I actually felt like a patient and that my Dr had genuine concern for my health (and my daughters previously) - I cannot say that for the rest of the practice as my previous experiences apart from my most recent two with this Dr have been appalling (drs and reception staff are quite frankly a joke and haven’t been giving their best for a while). Most time you’re left talking to Drs who don’t care and are quite rude. Goodcare practice needs more workers like this Dr who genuinely seem passionate about their job and are patient led. Thank you. I hope this gets back to you as the NHS needs tons more of you for our GP surgeries to improve.

Review titled Poor service and lack of compassion.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Sad customer - Posted on 25 March 2024
Not the first time and is the normal practise. Waited in phone line queue for 35 minutes, only to be told by receptionist fully booked by and hangs up the phone. Extremely rude and frustrating an appointment with the GP.

Review titled Ridiculous Phone System
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 05 February 2024
I have been trying to call the surgery since 8:34, waiting approximately 45/50 minutes to get through each time. Finally, I got to number one in the queue and then cut off!! This happened four times!!!! Each time, I get to number one, and then I get an alarm sounding bleep, and then I get cut off. I finally managed to speak to someone at 11:15 (the fifth time around), and all appointments were gone. I was told to call back again tomorrow morning or come down to the surgery at 8:30 and make an appointment. The receptionist just apologised in a very dismissive manner and said to call back, as there were no appointments; she skimmed over the fact that there were issues with the phone line and went on to say that if there is a cancellation, she'll get in touch; how is this a resolution? This is not the first time I have experienced this, and I'm sure it won't be the last! I spent over 2.5 hours trying to get through...and now I must start again tomorrow morning. Furious!!

Review titled Very rude receptionist and poor practice
Rated 1 star out of 5

I called the GP to know why the refferal has been rejected by the hospital. This was on Jan 2024 and referral was rejected on Nov 2023 and I was not updated about it until I rang the hospital today. Since, I changed my daughter GP recently (1 week ago) the receptionist told be abruptly that she could not access her record and to call my current GP and hung up the phone. I called my current GP and was advised that they could not assess her record either and best thing would be to call the hospital. I called them back and forth to three different places previous GP, hospital and current GP and none of them would give me the information I needed. In particularly the receptionist in Good care practise was not at all willing to listen my concern at all and kept telling me they could not access my daughter information period and cut off the phone 3 times. She did not put any effort to help me and kept telling me to contact my current GP. I don’t still understand how to access the reason for the rejected referral as I truly believe it’s my right to know as a parent and also about my daughter wellbeing.

Review titled Bad experience
Rated 1 star out of 5

I rang goodcare practice regarding a blood test booked . The female representative seemed to go quiet when she heard my voice respond to her hello. I spoke again. This time the representative was abrupt. She asked me for my date of birth. I proceeded to tell her, but she cut me off , she raised her voice saying , hello hello. I remained calm and asked if she could hear me ok, she said yes, then asked me my name. I told her. She went quiet again . Then put the phone down on me. Lovely! I rang again , this time someone was polite but did not address her colleague's rudeness . Glad I left this practice years ago. I only called because this surgery's number was given for my blood test query. Nightmare.

Review titled Still waiting
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Patricia mccormick - Posted on 29 July 2023
I done an online request on Saturday 22nd July, the practise would contact me before or on Tuesday 25th July, I'm still waiting? I emailed them on Thursday 27th asking for someone to contact me, still waiting. I am needing help with my antidepressants, and my mental health, and they don't seem to care. I am very very upset with how this has worked out would not recommend.

Review titled Bad service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Liz Mcewan - Posted on 06 July 2023
I called On Tuesday 04/07 and I was 37 in-line ( I waited 45 mins) I got to number 1 and I was cut off. I called again I was number 17. I Explained to the receptionist what happened , that there must be something wrong with your system, she wasn’t interested! I explained I bought over the counter medication for cystitis and I was up all night with bad systems. I asked if the doctor could leave me a prescription at the pharmacy ( which the doctor has done in the past) she said I needed a face to face appointment at 2.45 ( a whole day I would have to endure pain) A face to face appointment was not needed, waste of resources! She then told me to call back the next day, I would then have to endure another 45 mins of wait time on the telephone and pain discomfort. I contacted boots online service and ordered the tablets for a cost of £23. I have paid my taxes and national insurance into the NHS all my life (luckily I do not go to see the GP) The one time I needed a simple request I was refused…can you please advise me how I can make a informal complaint. Dear Liz McEwan. I was sorry to read about your recent poor experience. We have reviewed and changed our systems, so we now answer calls made between 8:30am and 9:30am within three minutes on average, and within a minute after 9:30am. If possible could you send an email to goodcare.practice@nhs.net with details of the calls you made? If things are not working as they should I would like to investigate so that we can improve. Regards Andrew Sarek, Business Manager
