  1. Review titled Avoid this practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Tracie Heyes - Posted on 05 December 2024

I have been a patient at this practice for 2 years since moving back into the area. With the exception of a lovely dermatology doctor I saw 1 year ago the service here has been very poor. For 3 weeks I have been trying to get an appointmnet on the online EMIS platform. Twice, I have secured a slot after refreshing the app continuely at 8am on the dot, only to 'lose' the slot by the time I typed my details in!! I went in to the surgury after this happened the second time only to have a rather smug receptionist say theres nothing we can do. I asked how a slot could go as you were booking it, she couldn't answer (I had screenshots) really couldn't have cared less. Advised to go to the walk in for a small rash on my face!! Finally had enough and applied for another practice in stalybridge and was seen on the same day I was accepted as a new patient. This practice does not appear to believe in preventative treatment as what was a small rash has now spread down the side of my face and the cream I needed could have prevented this. I just felt like a number, except mine never came up to actually get seen! If you like to gamble with you health, choose here! I'm so glad I am not a patient here anymore which is a shame as it is very near home.

  2. Review titled Inexperienced GPs and unhelpful receptionists

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 June 2024

Took my daughter on Friday for a rash. She was given a cream but told we couldn’t get it straight away as the doctor is new and not registered on the system. But it will be prescribed later that afternoon and we will get a text to confirm. After about an hour the same doctor called and said that he consulted the other doctor and he said that she will also need an anti fungal cream on top of the new eczema cream he was going to prescribe but unfortunately can’t prescribe them today as that GP’s card is not working. At this point u wasn’t sure whether the person who looked at my daughters rash was even a registered GP. But I agreed said I am willing to wait till Monday as there can be issues with the system and everything is not perfect all the time. Come Monday I gave my pharmacy a ring in the afternoon leaving them plenty of time to prescribe my daughter’s medication, but my pharmacy tells me there is nothing for my daughter. Rang the surgery and the receptionist told me there is one cream on the system that still hasn’t being approved. But there is not other cream just the one and I told her the doctor rang me and said he will be prescribing me two. The receptionist made me feel like I am lying to her telling me we can go on what is on the system. I thought they have a duty of care for the patients who are registered under them, and to make sure they check everything before making us feel like we are lying to them. And she told me she can’t promise whether my daughters medicine will be prescribed today as well as the GP we saw on Friday is not in today. So if I didn’t ring would it even be looked at?? How disgusting and appalling. We work and pay tax to pay NHS but they are not even able to recruit staff that are qualified and is empathetic towards their patients. And on top of that provide a better service. No apology for the delay in the prescription but straight in with we can’t promise to get it today. Well it was suppose to be done last week not today. Disgusted with the surgery.

  3. Review titled Awful appointment system

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 March 2024

I tried to book an appointment today and was told appointments can only be booked through the NHS app at 8am apparently there are only 5 available slots for the same day on the following week. This is absolutely appalling there are goodness knows how many people chasing these appointments. You need to change this system and provide a better service. This used to be an excellent practice but sadly no more.

  6. Review titled Incompetent

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Nxyly - Posted on 20 March 2024

Doctors will leave you without anticonvulsant medication for 5 days even though they know how dangerous it is to stop taking them abruptly, which can cause seizures. Don't apologise then lie to cover their back. Phoned everyday to be told we'll put it through which did not happen until a day before my next lot of medication was due. They only have 6 appointments for a full day with only 2 doctors for over 4000 patients. If you value your health and would like to be able to get an appointment and treatment avoid this practice at all costs, You deserve better.

  7. Review titled Appointments are never available!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 September 2023

I ordered a prescription for an inhaler, the next day I received a text message to book an appointment for an asthma review. I have tried numerous times over the last few months to book one but I can never get an appointment and always told to ring back on another day when more appointments are released. I have even tried to book online but the same message always appears “no appointments available to book online at this time.” I gave up on the end with trying to get an appointment. When I’ve ordered my recent prescription for an inhaler it was rejected because I’m overdue an asthma review!!! Unbelievable. So I rang the surgery on a Friday to be told ring Monday for appointments in October (4 weeks time) in the meantime I’m told I can’t have an inhaler until I’ve had my review which I’ve not even got an appointment for yet and having to wait 3 days before I can ring back and try and get an appointment!! Absolutely shocking service.

  8. Review titled 1 hour 20 minutes held on call, no answer

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 August 2023

repeat medication rejected, no reason given. had to get emergency rations. called today, Q place 16, 17 mins, I had moved to 14. tried later and was 19 in Q, 1 hour later was No.1 and waited another 20 mins, stuck at No1. Still cannot speak to anyone to sort my meds out. This is not the first time. Medication has been stopped, as their way of telling me to call surgery. But this one is the worst, when I cannot communicate at all and have to pay the cost of the call in the process!

  9. Review titled New office staff great!

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Past staff in the office have been rude and unhelpful. The new members have been extremely helpful and ‘care’ which has greatly improved the practice

  10. Review titled Unusually Poor service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Christine - Posted on 15 July 2023

Ordered medication on Tuesday reassured it would be ready the following day, to find Friday morning medication still not at the pharmacy. Went into doctors twice to be told prescription would be sent over. Returned to chemist later to be told I was one of 15 patients whose prescriptions had not been sent. Advised by pharmacy I would have to ring 111 to get medication. Holiday had to be cancelled as a result. Most unusual for this practice but very frustrating.
