Review titled Very poor service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 29 February 2024
The receptionist is extremely rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful. They will make you wait whether it is on the phone or in person before talking to you. They will have tea and chatter amongst themselves (not work related) I called the gp practice whilst standing out in the receptionist to see how long it takes them to answer the phone. I was 7 in the queue but no one picked up my call as they were talking and laughing amongst themselves. Also my mum had a telephone appointment. The phone only rang twice and they hung up. I had to call back and complain and argue for my mum to have an appointment. I did an e-consult and it said someone will be in touch within 48hours but they gave an appointment 2 weeks later ???? Pls can Gough walk practice be looked into and improve their patient service as soon as possible. People have serious conditions and they are waiting weeks for an appointment. It’s very ridiculous.

I have been calling several days to be able to schedule an appointment since it is a delicate issue but the phone service is terrible, they hang up the call after having waited for almost an hour

Review titled The worst practice putting patients at risk
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 18 December 2023
This is the worst practice I have been at , so unprofessional and unhelpful. It will take one year to get an appointment if you’re lucky. When people are suffering they delay getting referrals for tests and in that time of waiting for an appointment, patients symptoms get worse and they become extremely sick . I have been suffering for the last 3 years from pelvic pain , infertility symptoms, ptsd, and upper quadrant pain and I can’t get this examined because I can’t even get an appointment. They know they don’t have appointments, they make people Que , they make people wait on the phone for over a hour to be told there’s no appointments, no online or telephone consultations or alternative. This is ridiculous and unacceptable. There are vulnerable children and elderly who are at high risk and everyone has a right to be seen . It seems like This practice is almost neglecting and violating our human rights of being able to receive efficient treatment and care which we are eligible for . I understand the NHS is under pressure but not all practices are anywhere near as bad as Gough walk practice . Where is the management ? If this practice can not deliver services to patients and if they are going to waste people’s time and be no help , they should not really be open as almost all reviews are negative on this GP. I am highly disappointed that a practice could be as unhelpful as Gough walk? they do not work hard enough to make changes in management to deliver the best service to their patients .I have not been well and my symptoms have gotten worse and I have not been seen by specialists in two years almost as the Gp has been very hard to communicate with . So I am going to have to change GP practices , my experience at Gough walk practice was appalling.

Review titled A bit of patience is worth the long wait
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by DmL - Posted on 13 October 2023
Called at 10:31, 14th in the queue. Spoke to the receptionist around 11:35 and finished the call 11:40 ish. So, if you allow that each caller before is going to take 5 minutes it will give you an indication of how long you may have to wait. When I did get through, the receptionist was very helpful. Noting up all the symptoms and offering ways of speeding up diagnosis. The receptionist informed me that either they or Doctor would get back to me later. The receptioist did within 10 minutes. One thing I do wish the surgery would do is stop using No Caller ID, if I wasn’t expecting a callback I would have missed the return call made by the receptionist Someone mentioned calling 111, yes you could or complete the 111 webform, but the call back is within 2hrs+10%. Choice is yours.

Review titled Reception queues too long
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 September 2023
The queue in reception is too long and there is no separate one for booking in for appointments. Waited 15 mins and was late for appointment, and receptionist questioned whether I had actually waited that long. Their electronic signing in kiosks have not worked for as long as I can remember, which would make patients life much easier and also help the surgery run more efficiently. Not sure why they are there if they are not going to be in use. At least have a separate queue for patients booking in for their appointments so they are not waiting in line behind others who are there for other reasons.

Review titled Treated with compassion
Rated 4 stars out of 5

My mother is 76 and has been quite unwell with a complex set of conditions, her symptoms of issues have been getting worse since January and we've been pushed between pillar and post between services, she sadly ended up in a&e which we believe was avoidable if community services actually listened and provided proactive early intervention support. We then had a GP appointment with Dr H, who took his time with mum and me (daughter) to talk though all of her results. He did a full medication review which has had an immediate positive effect. He looked at mum holistically rather than one thing at time. He talked through next steps clearly, with respect and compassion for my mum. We are incredibly grateful for this and there is now a care plan in place

Review titled Awful, awful practice
Rated 1 star out of 5

Can never speak to someone on person. Never any online consultation available as they've seemingly switched it off permanently. After the ever growing times of waiting in a call cue just to talk a rude receptionist, I get no help at all. How is it that every time I call there are no appointments? On top of that, I could be calling at 8am and be on hold for 2-4hrs after being told I'm no.38. This place needs a serious looking at. I've only had two nice experiences with those at the front desk the entire time I've been with this practice. Otherwise I'm met with rudeness and dismissiveness. Really makes one feel like a valued patient that does. That being said, I can usually get what I'm after whether it be an appointment or prescription, but not before a monolithic journey of waiting days if not, weeks just to get the attention needed. If you need to call this practice; don't. Call 111 instead they actually help and listen (btw 111 can't bypass this practice's phone lines like they can with others, so waiting is a definite, no matter the emergency in this wretched place)

Review titled Ridiculous
Rated 1 star out of 5

Why do they expect working people to have more than 2 hours to hold the phone just to get an appointment? I called exactly at 08.00, was number 38 in the call queue!! After 2hours the call cut off! Called again, I was number 27 in the call queue, now it's 11:09 and Im still holding phone, I am now number 5. Im sure they will tell me they have no more appointments available. E-consult is "temporarily unavailable"... it's absolutely ridiculous! I don't understand why can't you have an online appointment booking system where people can book an appointment anytime by themselves. Once you get an "appointment" they can call you anytime during the day, which means I have to carry my phone with me everywhere at work... very disappointing!
