No wonder Green Porch has been published as being one of the bottom 20 surgeries across Kent in an article posted by Kent Llive today. My son was referred for a specialist in June 2023. I had chased multiple times as I hadn't recieved any acknowledgement or indication of wait time to be told he has definitely been referred. The medical secretary said she would chase but I never got a call back. On chasing again (July 2024) I was provided details to chase myself. On doing so I learn that they only got the referral in May 2024 and it got rejected as they had used the wrong service so they had me chasing a service they were already written to advising to use an alternative referral scheme in May and still did nothing. Better yet you can self refer. I've been waiting 12 months in vain and the wait time is at least another 22 weeks. That's over 3 times the standard wait time. Meanwhile this is affecting my son's well being.

I have been with the doctor’s for a long time and I’m very happy with the practice and will be with them for a long time when I go to to the doctors I’m checked for what is wrong with me and I’m getting my medicine

I tried for a solid week of calling in at 8:00 to get an appointment and was unable to get one. Pre-booked smears and medication reviews get cancelled the day before and another one set for 3 plus weeks in the future. Then make it your fault when you can’t get another day off work.

I did an E consultant which I found super easy to follow and extremely efficient! Got a quick response on the day for a pre bookable appointment which I only had to wait 10 days for a face to face. The appointment itself was faultless and helpful as well as all the staff I dealt with :) I was listened to and felt at ease and was dealt with in a professional manner allowing me to get the answers I need as well next steps. It’s a shame it has a bad name so I was eager to leave a review. Many people forgot to understand that it’s not the receptionists fault that they might not have as many appointments one day to another and it’s completely out of their control. It’s the same everywhere unfortunately good thing we have other services like 111 and walk ins as people tend to forgot to use them! Would highly recommend green porch.

I was concerned about symptoms being experienced and was offered a same day appointment. I was given a full time slot even though it was a last minute appointment. I was heard and he understood what was going on for me. I was have to have bloods taken at the surgery on the same day and next steps were discussed with me. Two days later, I was called in to discuss my results and next steps.

I have been with this Dr for several years, having read some of the reviews posted here, they sadden me. The surgery merged in the last few years and yes it did become more difficult to get through on the lines or get an appointment - but during this time we also went through COVID where everything changed pretty much overnight. The phone lines have much improved. I have always found the reception team have tried their hardest to meet our needs, even, if it has been to signpost to other services. I've had two children since the surgery move, during each phone call or appointment we have been listened to, treatment received has been fantastic and even the little things like getting repeat prescriptions and been so easy to do. The pharmacy linked to Greenporch is fantastic too! I wouldn't move from this surgery, Dr A himself is one of the kindest and compassionate people I have met and I feel very fortunate, that even though not every appointment is attended by him these days, that he is the Dr supporting me and my family. Thank you for all you do.

Last week I had an appointment booked at this surgery. By the time I got to the surgery my condition had deteriorated and I couldn’t even get out of the car. The doctor came out and helped me to get in a wheelchair and took me in. I fainted in there and they called an ambulance immediately as I needed to get to the hospital as I was suffering severely from complications due to ongoing cancer treatment. 2 doctors and staff looked after me while’s waiting for the ambulance. In this time I was given an anti sickness injection and oxygen to ease my symptoms. They all stayed with me till the ambulance arrived. On my return home after 8 days, the practice got in touch to see how I am. Excellent service given throughout. Well done. Thank you to the practice Manager and his team. Thank you very much.

I attended the surgery for a blood pressure check. This was easy to book on my phone. The receptionist was very pleasant, the reception area was super clean and l waited very little time to be seen. The nurse was so lovely and over all it was just a nice experience.

Two recent experiences where this practice proves to be totally inadequate to provide the duty of care to its patients. I had to wait 3 weeks for an appointment to seek advice following a back complaint which has left a numbness to one leg. After finally seeing what I can only describe as possibly the scruffiest dressed doctor who also struggled to string a single sentence together, I was prescribed yoga 🧘! He then proceeded to advise general exercise for which I explained I regularly run. He then replied, I can see you don’t have a big belly but you’re nearly 50 and getting old! Amazing what a genius, so glad I contribute to his salary! The second more recent experience was my wife trying to get an appointment for our 6yr old daughter who has had a persistent cough for many weeks which is now making her physically sick. After the usual failed attempts to phone for an appointment (same experience everyone has - wait in line then all alts gone) my wife called 111. The advice given was they would send through a referral to speak to a doctor so my wife call the surgery back. No appointments available travel 30 mins to faversham walk in. They were brilliant and gave our daughter a steroid shot, inhaler and antibiotics, clearly in need of medical support. Terrible care from this hideous excuse of community medical centre Green Porch! Shame on you!
