    I am having delays to a HRT prescription. Today I called the surgery again (on their advice from yesterday's call- which was a follow up from Friday's blood pressure check and that was a follow up from an appointment on Thursday where the prescription was first discussed). While the call to the prescription team was quickly answered when I queried the delay and explained the situation having given my personal details (again), I was rather annoyed to be told "if you don't like it [the delay], you can go and get a private prescription!".

    As I write this I am still on hold! I have been waiting for nearly an hour and a half. I started as caller number 6. How on earth does it take so long to speak to someone. I have been caller 2 for 30 minutes plus. No. 7 was the only option open to me. I am beyond satisfied. I only need my NHS number. Once I have it, I shall be leaving this practice for good.

    I just phoned the surgery. I needed option 7 'other'. The first time I pressed 7 I had to re-listen to the lengthy explanation of all the options again. The 2nd time I was told I was through to the Appointments number (although this is a different option) and if this was not why I phoned I should hang up. So I hung up but still without being able to speak to anyone or leave a message.

    After completing an e-consult I waited for a call, I had a call from an unknown number which I tried to answer but it seemed to ring off. I did not know this was the GP. I also work in a school so difficult to call back especially when it can take 40 minutes to actually get through. Later on I looked at my NHS app and under consultations it said that they had tried to call me to book an appointment but that the call had been answered and disconnected. No one tried calling again. It took over 30 minutes for me to get through in the afternoon. When I did eventually get through I was told they had an appointment available in the next 30 minutes. Why no one would try calling again is beyond me, this seems a very inefficient way of running a patient centred "service". It is very easy for anyone to miss a call, and it would surely not take much effort for another attempt to be made. The most frustrating thing about this surgery is trying to get through via telephone.

    I have been waiting to become a registered patient at this practice for over a month now. The receptionists showed no empathy to my situation, have been very unhelpful and were unable to provide me with an explanation why supposedly a two week process is now taking over a month. If I can't trust the practice with a simple admin process how can I trust them to look after my health record?

    Trying to book an appointment with this practice is extremely difficult and if you have to call back for any results it takes forever to get through. Calling at 8 am to book an appointment I had to redial 73 times before I was put on the queue so I could book an appointment. When I called to get my results the automated system said that I was number 7 in the queue but it took 50 minutes before I was connected to the receptionist and actually spoke to someone. This is unacceptable. I have screen grabs to verify these facts. When I speak to friends and family they have the same experience.

    For someone like me with two hearing aids, the screens around the receptionists make it almost impossible to hear what they are saying. The only way round this is to bend down and put an ear next to the slot that documents are passed through - a very uncomfortable experience!

    I recently needed to get some information to the practice outside of the opening hours and have had to write a letter and then drop it in your letter box on my way to work. Why does the practise not have email which is a modern method of professional communication for business? You send text messages and emails, why not receive them?

    I rang today regarding my appointment. I got through after 45 mins then they hug up. I am now sitting with it ringing again and i'm already on another hour. It's really not expectable. If we need to cancel an appointment we can't because we can't get through. The hospital have asked my to call due to a heart condition and I just can't get a response

    In the absence of a possibility of a face-to-face appointment which is quite understandable, the receptionist I spoke to could not do enough to help me. She was patient, kind and I really felt like she cared. She was able to find an alternative solution when I was in extreme pain. Thanks to her thoughtful actions I’m already very much on the mend. When I have been able to get appointments, the doctors are very attentive, knowledgeable and give you the time and respect that you would wish for. I have always been very impressed with this surgery and have been with them for 22 years. Obviously times and budgets are more trying now for all GP surgeries, but they still do everything they can to help you as much as possible.
