Review titled Bad appointment system
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 04 November 2024
Why can't surgeries return to the pre-covid booking systems which allows people to make an appointment in advance for another day? Making an appointment since 2020 is a hurdle; especially for the type of people who are not keen on seeing Drs or admitting that they need a Dr. which is many men and old people. So basically the rigid appointment system is sexist and ageist as, for many, many people, it adds a further psychological hurdle to making an appointment on top of the one that they already have. How is it right to make a person, sick or in pain, have to set an alarm for 8 am as a reminder and hit dial and end call over and over until they get past the engaged tone and into an hour long queue? Making an appointment to see a Dr should not be so rigid that it becomes a psychological hurdle.

Greendale Primary Care Centre are offering services in line with the NHSE guidelines with various options to request appointments as advised on our website (https://www.greendaleprimarycarecentre.co.uk/). This page also has advice on how to register on the NHS App which gives you access to pre-bookable appointments. The newly introduced phone system has a call-back facility which has been beneficial for patients. I hope these options will prove useful to you as it has other patients.

Review titled Missing phone calls
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Andrea Moneta - Posted on 05 April 2024
I booked a phone call with the doctor to review my blood test and had to wait more than one month to have an appointment. The phone call was scheduled at 10.15am and I waited two hours; when I called the surgery they said that the doctor didn't come on that day and that he would have called the following day in the morning without giving an estimate time. The following day, I received a call at 10am but I couldn't answer the phone and when I call back the doctor left a message that I had to book another appointment, which is not available at least for one week. Furthermore, when I asked to print my blood test to see the blood test results, the nurse said that I need to discuss the results with the doctor first, that is something I never did in the last 10 years of routine blood test at the same surgery. At the end of the story, I'm spending hours over the phone to get a doctor, I'm waiting months to have an appointment, the doctor is missing the phone appointment without warning, I miss a phone call and I don't even deserve the possibility to be called again from the doctor (his name cannot be written here unfortunately), so this is how a patient is treated at Greendale Primary Care Centre. I will try to leave asap and find another surgery hoping to have a different experience.

Thank you for your feedback. We have since installed a new phone system which offers a range of facilities to help alleviate previous issues. We hope this has helped in the recent months.

What let's this practice down is the appointment system, why have an telephone system if it dies not work, please listen to the patients, phone calls are going without being answered surely that's not right. Consider those who work or can get to the practice, I was first in the queue in in work heard a short message and the phones rang for one hour then went silent. Please look at the system it very frustrating at present

Thank you for acknowledging our Clinical staff with a positive comment. Sincere apologies for the trouble you've had getting through on the phones. We notify our current phone service provider of any such issues we're made aware of. The surgery is due to have an updated phone system imminently, which should help resolve the issues you have raised.
