    Professional, friendly and very reassuring. Reception and GP were wonderful - I cannot thank them enough for fitting me in & being so kind.

    After returning to the doctors for issues I have had as a newborn, (now nearly 21), with them making no effort to look into heart issues and them previously telling me there is nothing wrong with me, (literally unable to breathe for minutes at a time with the worst pain i have ever experienced in my heart). My doctor stated talking about how the contraceptive I had been taking for less than a year could kill me with blood clots and swelling, (neither of which I had experienced, brought up, or was at all relevant in the appointment). The doctor then went on to say she’s not concerned but will run tests anyway, (probably so I can’t go to another doctor, get a diagnosis and sue the previous doctor). I also talked about breathing/ling problems which the doctor then said she wouldn’t deal the problem until my heat was dealt with and since they have only just started “looking into” this now after almost 21 years, I’m not hopeful this will be dealt with any time soon. I described my lung/breathing symptoms to the doctor the doctor then continued to say it was just be a of living in a dry environment and told me to get a humidifier, I then informed the doctor that I live in a damp house, the doctor then completely double backed in what they said and stated that the damp environment was the cause of the issues without saying/ doing anything further.

    As a relatively new patient I have been most impressed. I phoned yesterday and the phone was answered immediately. The receptionist was pleasant and helpful. I wanted a vaccination and received an appointment that afternoon. The nurse was also very pleasant and professional. I also asked for a face to face appointment with a doctor which I stressed was non urgent. I was offered one for the next morning which unfortuately was not convenient for me but I was offered another convenient one. If this is the broken NHS then long may it last.

    On Friday I received a text from the surgery telling me that I was being referred to Dynamic Health and if I wanted further information I should ring the surgery. Yesterday I started ringing the surgery at 5.45pm on the number given. Unfortunately, I still ended up in the usual queue. About 6pm the message said that I was caller number 10. The website showed that the surgery was open until 7pm, so I continued to hold. By 6.15pm the message said that my call would be answered by the next available operator. It was still saying this when I eventually hung up at 7.05pm! Pressing 1 for a call back has never worked for me. Three weeks ago I handed in a repeat prescription at my local pharmacy. When they hadn’t received it back from you a week later, someone from the pharmacy rang to see what had happened to it. to be told that it had been sent to a St Ives pharmacy as a permanent change had been requested!! Of course, they didn’t know who had requested it. I’ve been a patient at this surgery for over 50 years and I can’t believe how much it’s changed recently and not for the better.

    The whole team at the St Ives practice have always been great and really helpful. I had some health concerns at the start of the year and I was so grateful for the supoort I received. GP receptionist get a lot of grief but I've always found the front desk team there to be friendly and helpful. With the NHS under so much pressure at the moment it's reassuring to have a GP practice I feel safe with and can rely on when needed.

    My mum has arthritis in her knees and has difficulty in standing and it was getting worse. I was worried she wouldn't be able to physically get out of a chair for much longer so asked to speak to a GP. I received a telephone appointment with with an Advanced Care Practitioner who was amazing. I had to take my mum in to see him the next day. He gave her a thorough examination, and took the time to explain to mum what he was doing and why. He was approachable, friendly and professional and made sure that mum understood what he was doing and why. He suggested that some of the problems with her mobility might be due to the amount of fluid on her legs and explained that fluid is heavy so that is why walking around is more difficult for her and may exacerbate the pain in standing. He prescribed an extra water tablet a day and it has helped her. He even called her the following week to see how she was getting on. No GP or Physio has ever mentioned that the fluid on her legs could be making her mobility worse. Whilst it doesn't fix the arthritis (nothing can) it was an insightful observation which has benefitted mum. Thank you!

    I want to thank all the staff at Grove Medical Practice for helping us this month - from the amazing staff at reception to the duty doctor, clinical pharmacist and the dispensary manager. My dad, who had been visiting me from India, urgently required medication for high blood pressure. He had run of his medication due to having caught the flu and having to postpone his return flight back by a week. All the staff who I discussed this issue with very kind, patient and compassionate. With their advice, we managed to get him registered as a temporary resident and I requested an urgent appointment online the next day. I was treated respectfully and with understanding, despite my repeated calls to ensure that he got his medication on time. Thank you to everyone who helped us with this! I must add that as others have mentioned, I had to request a call back multiple times as the phone lines were busy, I also ended up emailing a couple of times, but I was perfectly happy to do all of this. We understand how much pressure GP services are under and although it was very hard to be patient under these circumstances, we were reassured that we would get the help we needed, and we did.

    We are all going through difficult times, but with continuing medical issues trying to get through to the surgery can be slow but with there self referral on line option on line which is available from 08:00 Monday to Friday until they are full or even phoning the surgery selecting option 1 then if you are away from being answered then select option 1 again and you keep your place in the queue and then they call you back when it’s your turn so you will always get to speak to a receptionist who will if advised you if you consider you need to speak to a doctor will send a message to the duty doctor who if it is considered important will call you back during the day. This system although not as good as the days when you could call and make an appointment still works well with the work load the doctors have day after day. Thank you to the staff for being there for us.

    I received a telephone appointment with a friendly, understanding doctor. I was then invited to go to the practice for another appointment in person. The doctor was caring and professional, Reception and pharmacy did their best to accommodate my requests too.
