Review titled Very Poor Practice
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 13 February 2025
I won’t go into details about how particularly useless they’ve been with treating me and even referring me to the appropriate people. I had a scan in July last year which showed concerning results. They however didn’t refer me to a specialist until October when I kept coming back with symptoms. On this particular date, I had bad vomiting and couldn’t keep food for two days prior. I was given an appointment, which I left work to attend. I got to the surgery, signed in with the tablet and it said wait in the first floor waiting room, which I did. There were a couple of people waiting there, and the doctor I was supposed to see was seeing other people. This is not strange to me, I usually have to wait 20-30 minutes to actually see the doctor when I come in for an appointment. After nearly an hour of waiting, I went down to reception to find out what’s happened. And the woman said to me that the doctor is now on break but she’d check what’s happened. She then said it’s on the system that I didn’t attend the appointment. I said that’s not possible as I’ve been here 50 minutes, just waiting. She then said oh I didn’t sign in. I once again said that’s not possible because I did sign in, as I always do and I was told to wait in the first floor because I did sign in. I left there in tears. This experience is simply unacceptable. I can’t leave work and lose pay for an appointment that you asked me to attend and then just be blatantly ignored. Very poor surgery. I wouldn't recommend

Dear Ms Everett Thank you for your feedback. May I apologise that you have had a poor experience on this occasion with the surgery. I understand your concerns and agree that there is room to improve the process in the absence of your named GP, with regards to reviewing any test results in a more timely manner. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Kind regards Lucy Venner Practice Manager

Review titled Not seen a doctor here since 2019
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Lucy Mungeam - Posted on 07 August 2024
I have been unable to see a doctor here, as the NHS app proves since 2019. I try early mornings to get an appointment and there never is one. I have had to use pharmacies, A and E, walk in surgeries and other places to get my care. I am now officially making a complaint from being excluded from appointments for 5 years and more as before that I couldn't get one. No communication and turned away numerous times, despite phoning when told.

Reception staff have no idea how to triage or deal with issues. Still waiting a call back from the practice manager as requested, 2 days later. You’re just told ‘no’ to requests without any other advice or options given.

Review titled very poor

Another example of merging surgery and computer system degrading health care. If have chronic health problem and want to see a doctor and stay on top of your health this is not the place. You can't make appointments at desk you still have to call on the day (and join long queues) so can't keep on top of serious health problems. Even the staff who work there are not aware of this and I was told to make an appointment after a blood test by staff member even though I said you could not and they said you could. But of course you could not! So lack of awareness and communication of staff issue. I had markedly abnormal blood test which was marked as normal by general practioner here on the patient know best and it took lots of backing a forwarding to try and get a repeat done as would not acknowledge this. During which I was contacted for a blood test by the surgery and assuming it was for this I attended. But it was for an blood test which had been done by the specialist 3 weeks before. A waste of everyone time and resources. The ones that needed repeating were not done! computer system terrible and can't book thing easily whereas prior to this could email. When finally got surgery to acknowledge and repeat the abnormal blood test 4 months later had text to say needed blood test so attended having taken day off work but it had been cancelled without informing me. Prior to seeing the nurse for a blood test Had never had my weight or blood pressure done by the practice yet on patient know best there were reading which I did not recognise as mine. Eventually got blood test done outside of surgery and I have left this failing practice. Overall very poor level of care offered. At one point I was asked by my hospital specialist to see my general practitioner and discuss medication options, but I could not see my general practioner as does not exist. Pooled general practitioners. And when I eventually managed to get a phone appointment he read the letter to me and all I will say it was not a discussion. I also note that my serious condition is also noted a post viral illness on patient know best with mild symptoms when anything but this. I am sorry but as a medical practitioner I am sorry to say that care is very poor here.
