I’ve just completed a 10-week Beginners2Runners program offered through my surgery, and I can honestly say it was fantastic. I made new friends and improved my fitness both mentally and physically. From being completely inactive, I can now run 5K. I'm really grateful for the amazing program provided by Hamstreet Surgery and Beginners2Runners.

I’ve just finished a 10 week health coaching course provided by Beginners2Runners and the surgery and I can honestly say it’s the best thing I’ve ever received from the NHS. Everyone should do it. I’m extremely overweight and in my late 50s. I couldn’t run for 1 minute in week one and now on week 10 I am completing 5k with half of that being run without stopping. I can’t believe it. Plus I’ve lost weight too. Fantastic!

I’m not sure why I received the invitation to join B2R but it has been absolutely brilliant. I have gained so much from being part of this, much more than achieving my first 5k run. Weight loss, increased cardio fitness levels, confidence and a great sense of accomplishment. I have found new friends who are supportive and inclusive which is great for improving mental health. I exercise a lot on my own to help manage symptoms of Parkinson’s and the opportunity to exercise with other people has been invaluable and I know it will continue. This is a wonderful initiative and I thank you for giving me the chance to be part of it.

Thankyou for allowing me to attend b2r. Had an amazing 10 weeks with the coach ensuring we all did our best. I feel great mentally and physically. Met lots of new people and I am now a runner!

I am just completely the Health Coaching 10 week course. It was fabulous - and such fun. Learnt so much about enjoying exercise - and looking after my health. Now a lot lighter as well ! Can’t believe why more surgeries don’t offer this course ! In a word - transformational ! Never seen such a positive change in a mixed group of people of all types of health issues. I would encourage anyone to ask about the next course. The Health Coach and his team are simply fabulous. Huge thanks to Hamstreet for offering this opportunity. It really is life changing.

This surgery should be used as a template by others. The surgery supported both my parents through my mums terminal illness….. and us as a family too ( not patients there). There is genuine compassion all round. They supported us through a very tough journey, giving the very best care possible along the way and the information we needed to be able do our part, even when we were really struggling. I am so grateful to you all for everything you did. Thank you, thank you, thank you. NHS please take note, these are good people who are great at their job.

The practice continues to provide the highest quality of service in each aspect of its work. The admin staff are always polite, helpful and friendly. The doctors, nurses and all their support colleagues always do what they say, when they say they will do it. When I hear so many tales of woe about the availability and extent of the service provided by GP practices, I am grateful that I am registered with this excellent service. Thank you.
