Review titled Wonderful caring practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Miriam - Posted on 18 June 2024
I honestly feel cared about by everyone at this surgery. From the receptionist who makes my appointment, the practice nurses and the Drs. There’s even a physiotherapist! Harambee have cared for me, my daughters and up until recently, my granddaughter. Feels very family run, and the GP/nurse comes out and asks for you by name- no looking at an electronic display. And getting an appointment is easy, I’ve called at different times of the day, and they can still fit me in within a few days. Reminders for health checks are sent when needed. I can’t ever imagine not being a patient at Harambee, and would strongly recommend it.

Another yearly check up done, reminder from the practice and once again got an early morning appointment that didn’t affect my work day. The nurse did not make me feel rushed and was very thorough. As ever, friendly, respectful, yet professional staff, from the receptionist and the nurse.

Review titled Excellent Care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 June 2024
I felt during my consultation with the doctor that all my concerns and worries were listened too. Everything was explained to me in a manner that I could totally understand and felt comfortable with. My medication was explained thoroughly and comprehensively along with the reasoning why the medication was the best choice for me. Even though the surgery was extremely busy at my time of attendance, I felt that I received a thoughly professional and personal service.

Review titled Good receptionists, largely poor doctors
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Meg - Posted on 08 June 2024
The receptionist was amazing when I explained my struggles about recurring UTIs. However, when it came to having a Dr review, they were largely unhelpful, dismissive, and demeaning. The first doctor told me before I continue to have antibiotic treatment, I must get tested for an STI, which makes no sense. I had no symptoms and the clinic refused to test me because of this. The second doctor told me to wash myself properly and to wipe front to back. Which is common sense and I’d imagine most women know this by age 4. The practice had not been testing my urine for the past 3 times id sent it in, which led to the doctor refusing to progress treatment or investigation into the three UTIs I have a month because they had no record of a positive result. It seems the receptionists have more knowledge when it comes to UTIs and female reproductive health, and in the future I’ll be insisting on a female doctor because I don’t need to be dismissed and have my own anatomy mansplained to me by a male doctor.
