Was told by the oncology department to ring my GP practise on Thursday, to get my prescription for cancer treatment, was told no letter or email had been received from them and to fill the form on on the website.Tried to do and the form wasn't available.

  2. Review titled Very efficient online triage service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Trina Harley - Posted on 04 April 2024

I am very impressed with the online triage system. I needed to get some regular medication put onto repeat prescription so that I can order through the NHS app. I requested this midday on a Wednesday and by Thursday morning it was on the app! Well done Haresfield and Kempsey surgeries. From a very satisfied patient.

  4. Review titled practice steadily going downhill

Rated 1 star out of 5

All I needed was eye drops for my eye after chloramphenicol didn't work. I submitted my triage form, which was sent back to me advsing me to attend a minor eye unit. As I work some 30 miles away from home it has proven to be impossible to obtain an appointment, in some cases, until next week!!!!! This is unacceptable. I know exactly the treatment that I need and it would save us all time if GPs listened to patients who may actually have some knowledge about their conditions to save us all time and precious appointments, instead of demanding a 35% pay rise for little work. I have been a patient at this surgery in one form or another for over 60 years and all I can say is that it has slowly declined to a place where patients do not matter one jot.

  5. Review titled Gatekeeper receptionists spoil an otherwise good surgery

Rated 1 star out of 5

It's off-putting trying to get seen here. Both the website and the happy phone recording advises to make a booking on the website, or you can do it on the phone. Fine, I'd like to do it by phone, patient choice after all. The medically unqualified receptionists refuse to take a booking however when you call, instead asking dozens of intrusive questions that are not relevant with absolutely no empathy for the patient or their health or circumstances. Extremely stressful experience. Doctors and nurses are very nice, if you can ever get past the gatekeeper receptionists and arrange an appointment.

  6. Review titled Laughable service

Rated 1 star out of 5

Never really had a good experience with them, especially in the recent times. Receptionists are rude and unhelpful. What made me laugh today was I asked for diazepam for a flight and they don’t prescribe it anymore. However the receptionist told me to look at haresfields website for advice. It said if flying is a problem you should “seek proper care” and “not get on a flight” That’s ridiculous !!

Saw a Doctor for a skin complaint today ( was booked for me after submitting a patient triage online). Explained everything clearly, even reassured me about another problem. Checked my records for what tests I needed. Very happy with consultation. Seen before my appointment time, receptionist was very helpful too. I hope I never have to move as I love this Surgery. A big thank you to all

  8. Review titled Appalling appointment booking system

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 May 2023

This surgery's appointment system is so broken, not even all the king's horses and all the king's men could put this humpty dumpty of a mess back together again. I have a medical issue; the advice on the NHS website advises me to get seen by a doctor urgently. After calling and re-dialling and holding for hours all morning, I finally got through a brusque receptionist who refused to book me an appointment on the phone because I apparently should have used the website to book. The surgery's website does state you can phone to book but the staff on the phone don't seem to be aware of this. I finally went online in the afternoon (I have a job!) to find the website has disabled bookings. I called the surgery again; another long wait forever to the surgery on the phone and apparently I have to go online during a shifting narrow window in the day and not at other times when it's convenient. I finally managed to fill in the form the following day at a time convenient to the surgery (and not to the patient!), which has a thousand tick boxes to navigate, and if you click the wrong one, woe betide you, you'll have to start all over again. There is not the option for some medical issues, so I selected the one vaguely similar which wasn't right, but never mind, the system isn't designed for those medical conditions which don't fit into their limited website pigeonholes. When I finally got a call back to book an appointment, it was for several weeks' time. Even though the NHS website clearly describes it as urgent, the surgery doesn't think so. In summary, the proper palaver just to even get to the point of getting an appointment date is so off-putting, I wouldn't be surprised if people give up and end up getting worse with undiagnosed issues because it's easier to suffer than endure dealing with the booking system here.

  10. Review titled Awful. Would not recommend.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 January 2023

Receptionists are extremely rude and personal experience of GP prescribing incorrect dose of medication to my 3 month old and receptionist being reluctant to assist with resolving the issue making my child wait 5 days when all it takes is 2 mins of a doctors time to change the prescription. I work in the NHS and understand the stresses, but the way the receptionists have spoken to myself and other people that I have witnessed first hand while sat in the waiting room is disgusting. My child is also on prescription milk for a severe milk allergy. I had requested the milk via email 2 weeks before needing it, as they state it takes up to 3 working days to complete. Went to the pharmacy to collect and prescription and it had still not been completed. This has happened now 3x since starting his milk and every time I go to collect the milk from the pharmacy several weeks after completing the repeat (giving them lots of time to do it) it’s still not done.
