Review titled Excellent service
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I called at 08:30 and was number 2 in the queue. I spoke to a receptionist within two minutes, I explained my symptoms and was called back at 09:30 and I had an appointment at 11:30 am. Very friendly staff and wonderful service. NHS at its best!

Review titled Let down
Rated 1 star out of 5

After receiving news I had extremely high blood pressure I was told to talk to my GP immediately. I tried but was 'put on a list' to call tomorrow. No call came and when I chased was told the appointment had been 'fulfilled' which ion further questioning meant the GP had seen the email about it. No call so was put on the list for a call the next day. Still no call and it's now over 48 hours since requesting to speak to (or preferably see) a doctor. This is stressful, concerning and I suspect puhing my high blood pressure even higher. I have had some good experiences with this practice years ago but it does seem those days are long gone.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your recent contact with the practice. Please note, if you have had a blood pressure check at a community pharmacy and require ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, this should be provided by the community pharmacy. When a community pharmacy carries out a blood pressure check, they communicate the result to the GP practice so that we may undertake any action required. This may involve further repeat checks, a telephone appointment or a follow up with the nursing team. Only in the most extreme cases does a community pharmacy blood pressure reading require the pharmacy to recommend a same day GP contact. Normally, the advice as per NHS community pharmacy hypertension case-finding advanced service is within 3 weeks. Please be assured, whilst we have not been open over the weekend, GPs are working until late this evening and I fully expect you to receive contact today. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly if this is not the case. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss the circumstances of your recent experience if you would find this helpful. Thank you once again for taking the time to provide feedback. Yours sincerely Maria Flood Managing Partner

Review titled Efficient, kind and friendly Practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Elizabeth Hastings - Posted on 08 December 2023
I had been very unwell, the doctor was very kind and caring. They arranged blood tests and an urgent scan for me. After the visit to the surgery a few days later I was rushed to hospital and admitted. I spent 10 days in hospital being treated for a serious infection. When I was discharged home the doctor contacted me for a face to face appointment to make sure I was feeling better and to do some follow up tests just to check everything was still alright. The doctor was caring and made me feel that they were taking a genuine interest in my health and wellbeing. Having moved to this surgery just over a year ago, I have found the doctors and nursing staff there very good. I have always been able to have an appointment when needed, and they have taken the time to listen and sort out the problem.

Review titled Terrible practice! Unhelpful and rude.

Called in to make appointment for lung and chest pain and was told to call the next day at 8 am as appointments aren’t made after 10 am. Called the next day and was told to call 999. Very catty lady on the phone, very unhelpful. It’s not an emergency, and want to see gp for possible diagnosis, maybe prescribing antibiotics. Feel like I’m a loop without any help. Where does one go from here? Total feeling of despair. Don’t know why we pay taxes for bad service and don’t blame people going private. Unhappy to the nth degree.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on our service. I am sorry to hear that you have recently been dissatisfied with the service you have received from the practice and for any distress and inconvenience this has caused you. I would be grateful if you would contact the practice management team at the practice so that we can obtain some more details to allow us to investigate the concerns you have raised. We would welcome the opportunity to do this. We have recently made some changes to our system so that patients calling after 10am should not be asked to call again in order to obtain a plan to meet their needs, and hence we are keen to investigate why this happened on this occasion. Patients calling before 10am are added to the list on the day. Patients calling after 10am should be added to the next working day's list unless it is an urgent issue that cannot wait. Patients reporting that they are experiencing chest pain are always advised to call 999 as chest pain can be a sign of a medical emergency requiring specialist emergency treatment and assessment to ensure the best outcomes. Once again, I am sorry that you have had cause to complain on this occasion and hope that you will contact us so that we may investigate the specific circumstances and issues you have raised.
