    I was asked for an opinion of proposed changes regarding how to contact a GP but the consultation app closed before I could comment. The proposal said that from 2 October ‘all appointments would be made online’ but then contradicted itself by saying that those without computers could continue to phone. The foreseeable problem here is that impatient people with access to both computer and phone will use both. This will duplicate messages, demanding more time to deal with them, making the service slower, causing the impatient to be all the more likely to use both contact methods, meaning …..that the NHS has designed a vicious circle. I hope this helps in pointing out a problem. I’d be happy to help find a solution but would need to know more.

    Dear Mr Thomson Thank you for taking the time to leave a message for the practice regarding the new access system that we are using. Our system highlights to us if a patient is sending more than one request in a day to enable the access GP to assess if this is for the same request. Should we find that the concerns you have raised are in fact happening, we will address this with the patients directly.
