I called the surgery with regards a suspected case of Strep a in my child. I was kept waiting 20 minutes to be told there were no appointments. They told me to call 111. I was kept waiting a further 20 minutes and 111 told me they would instruct my gp to put us on the emergency call list. Nobody called me back. My child remains extremely unwell and you wonder why people end up in a&e. I am appalled that despite recent warnings about Strep a and instructing parents to contact gps and having received a letter from my child’s school telling us there was an outbreak in his class- this was a public health letter) also instructing to contact the gps

Many thanks for the feedback. This is now an outdated post. New systems are in place to triage patients accordingly and we have a new phone system to improve access.
