  1. Review titled Always had awful experiences

Rated 1 star out of 5

The fact that this hospital is closed during weekends same as the surgeries in town is ridiculous. There is no accident and emergency unit and the people answering the phone are extremely rude and have no interest in helping out. If you fall ill during the weekends you’re doomed as no one will care and no one is available to visit you unless you have a car and you can drive all the way to Harlow to sit for ages at the a&e. Shameful, always a dreadful experience.

Hello, thank you for your review. This has been left on Haymeads Surgery which is a small branch of a GP surgery (Church Street Partnership). Stort Valley Primary Care Network operate from this site evenings and weekends with out of hours GP, nursing and physiotherapy appointments but are not commissioned to operate an A&E or walk in service from this hospital. 111 are commissioned 'out of hours' to take calls from patients requiring GP services evenings and weekends. Herts & Essex Hospital is a shared community outpatient hospital, with many different organisations on site to provide community services, such as Princess Alexandra Hospital and Hertfordshire Community Health Services. Herts & Essex Hospital ceased operating an A&E unit in 1990 and a new community hospital was built in its place. We would suggest contacting Princess Alexandra Hospital, Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust or your local MP to discuss any issues relating to healthcare funding and provision in your local area. Thank you
